Helping partners look for ball

I see both sides in this so toss my 2 cents in.  Myself, it is just force of habit to help in looking for a ball.  Have been in plenty of tournaments where a player will not help at all, when the 3 of us are looking.  However when the 1 non-participant is looking, none of us lift a finger to help.  Karma...payback....just desserts...turn about is fair play....judge it anyway you like.  I agree with the original poster though.  Since both players stated they saw the ball, at least some attempt to spot it as walking along would have been the proper thing to do.  However, no rule states that they should of.  If nothing else guys, just agree to disagree & move on.

Did you not read mine? I said you were right, it isn't your responsibility to look for another's golf ball. I just said it was the kind thing to do, that's all.
