Tip: Cart bag falling at range

I wanted to drop a tip; apparently this trick isn't well known...

 

If you're at the range, and you're on dirt, your cart bag can sometimes be unstable. To avoid this, set it where you want it, and put an alignment rod through your umbrella sleeve/holder. It should be able to be slipped through a grommet, or you can ignore the bottom. Drive the alignment rod into the ground, and your bag should stay up through a hurricane.

 

Now, you may want your alignment rods during practice, but sometimes you have to sacrifice. 🙂

I may have a while ago, I have a phone holder for my alignment stick for filming my swing. I wish I had this innovation when I played competitively.

Shopping for a stand bag now though, so won’t be an issue once I find the right one.

Wife purchased me a "SelfieGolf" phone holder as a gift that I've had for a while.  It's a bit overpriced (I'm sure you can find on Amazon) and not quite as simple as the one above, but I have to admit it works great and has lasted thru 3-4 different phones over the years.

I heard a PGA caddie say 'a lying bag never falls' or something like that.  So that's the obvious way to keep it from falling, and that's why PGA caddies lay them down around the greens (or whenever they're not standing beside them).
