Buddy and I are playing the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale during masters week. How are the conditions usually in early April? Any do's and don'ts for the course?

Also the wives are coming with us and we are staying in Scottsdale for a few days in an Air B&B. We are staying Las Vegas for the early part of the week and playing Chimera.

Any Scottsdale restaurants or night life recommendations? We are in our mid 20s.

You can do ALOT better than TPC. Id play Troon North, Wekopa, and Grayhawk before TPC. Mastros Ocean Club in Kierland great steaks wife loves the seafood there

Quintero in Peoria. It's an ~hour drive from Scottsdale but very much worth it.

We Ko Pa Saguaro is great (I haven't played the Cholla course there).

I have heard fantastic things about Wickenburg Ranch as well, but that will be on my next trip down there without a doubt.

I had a blast at Eagle Mountain a few years ago and have heard that Sunridge Canyon is fun too but havent played it.

Ak Chin Southern Dunes is another one on my list.

Havent played Troon North, Grayhawk, Dinasour Mtn @ Gold Canyon but have heard good things

 

Scottsdale nightlife - head to old town / entertainment district if you are into night clubs and what not

 

Buffalo Chip Saloon for live bull riding/rodeo was another really fun thing we have done in the past which is up in Cave Creek

Head to old town scottsdale for dinner. Citizen Public house is our favorite and right in the middle of everything. Trendy, good menu and great drinks. City Hall for steaks.

Only passed thru (near) Old Town - had lunch at Rehab Burger Therapy in Scottsdale before we caught our flight out.  I still dream about that burger - very good, casual place and cool vibe.

Bourbon and Bones, Virtu, Second Story, Fat Ox, Sumo Maya, Steak 44, The Americano, Vic and Ola's and The Mission plus the aforementioned Citizen Public House are my favorite Scottsdale restaurants.

Is Pinnacle Peak restaurant still in operation?  Went to the one in Tucson many moons ago, and it turned me from a steak hater into a steak lover.  I know there was one in Phoenix area at one time, but it's been far too long since I've been that way.

 

31, 29, 17 and 15 ounce steaks.  If I recall correctly, put away the 31 and the baked beans and it was free.

I can't go to Scottsdale and not have dinner at Barrio Queen at least twice.

If you've not played TPC, by all means do. It is a lot of fun to play where you've seen the pros play. But if you have time for a second or third round, I would recommend the following

1.  We Ko Pa - Saguaro

2. Quintaro

3. We Ko Pa - Cholla

 

As for night life, old town has a lot of offerings. One of my favorite places is  Geisha a Go Go. But I'm twice as old as you and love sushi and sake. hahaha
