G425 Wood / Hybrid distances

Did someone compare the G425 woods and hybrids distances?

 

I've had a few sessions now and the tables on the Ping website don't seem to work out. Based on the website, the 3-Hybrid should be comparable to the 7-Wood, but I actually seem to hit it longer than the 5-wood. 5-wood would be comparable to the 4-Hybrid 1 degree down.

 

Am I just hitting the woods worse than the hybrids, or did anyone make similar observations?

I’m in the same boat, I’m tall and swing pretty upright so I always hit hybrids better than the equivalent fairway wood. Just have to go off of how far you hit them in testing rather than a chart of what Ping says works for the average golfer.

I'm actually more of a sweeper, too much in-to-out and flat, than fat... still, the woods go shorter than I'd expect from the ping tables.

I just got the G425 5 wood and 4 hybrid.  I have the 5 wood at a slight flatter lie position, but otherwise no changes to either.  

 

I hit the 5 wood 220-230 on the simulator and 4 hybrid 200-210.  Will take it outside this week to confirm.  But both clubs are fantastic.  My biggest hole in my bag was from 200-250 yards where I never felt comfortable, and these have been fantastic for me.  my z585 4 iron goes 190.  not sure that gapping makes sense or will hold up in real life vs. sim, but we'll see.

I only got the hybs so can't really compare to the fwys, what I can say is that these thing are HOT. Had to take the 22deg (lofted down to 21) from 425 to replace my 19deg 410. 2 deg more loft but still getting a touch more ballspeed from the 425. Distance wise its all good bc spin and launch but the speed to me is just strange. Averaging easily over 150bs from a 21deg hybrid really makes me think I should go crazy and replace my TM 3w with a lofted down 2hyb 425...

I 100% agree with this.  These hybrids are HOT.  Very strong ball flight.  I have the 19*.  I hit my buddy's on the course and went out and bought one.   It produces a lovely strong flat flight.  The bonus is the look down by the ball, the sound and feel.  Do not regret this purchase one bit.  Would recommend those on the fence to give them a swing.  I tried only with the stock shafts, but the Tensei Orange was the most consistent for me.  Both Alta and Rogue were also great.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but the gap between my 7wd and 22* hybrid is 15 yds.

I ordered a 425 2hyb to test this very idea. Should have it in my hands tomorrow. Never been good with 3-wood of the deck...
