I am planning to try to compete in the US Am qualifier at the Camargo Club this July. Has anyone played the course? I am also planning on roadtripping over from WA so what courses should I stop and play along the way? Any can't misses around Ohio/Chicago area?

I did some research on that trip from Seattle while we were in lockdown. If we are just talking public access courses, here is the route we looked at.

Gamble Sands

Circling Raven

The Ranch / Missoula

Old Works

Cottonwood Hills/ Bozeman

Powder Horn

Red Rock

Prairie Club / Valentine

Wild Horse / Gothenberg

Indian Creek / Omaha

The Harvester

TPC Deere Run

The Warren Course / Notre Dame

then to Camargo.

Basically I90 to Rapid City then drop down to I80 for the rest.

Sounds like a lot of fun. From everything I hear Camargo is a fantastic track. One of the best collection of par 3s anywhere! 
 

I’m not sure how many course you intend to play but as you go through Indiana I would probably skip Warren. It’s pretty far out of the way (north) and I wouldn’t consider it a must play. If you plan to play somewhere in Indy I would suggest Prairie View, The Brickyard, The Fort, or either of the Purdue courses.

Did you get in? I saw that Camargo filled up in about 7 minutes.
