Describe your first set of clubs, year purchased and price you paid.

I purchased a set of 4-P Wilson Staff Tour RM Forged CB with Fat Shafts back in 2003 from my dads friend for $150.  He played a couple rounds with them and wanted a set of Pings.  At that point in time, I think I played maybe once a year, and only on vacation.  I had a Dunlop driver and a knock-off Orlimar 3 wood that I got for free from the same guy I bought the clubs from.

 

I kept those clubs until 2012, which is when I really got into golf and picked up a set of 712 AP1s from DiscountDans.  Little did I know that I would chase that forged, centered-strike feeling for the next 9 years from those Wilson Staff CBs.

I started to play in my late 20's and bought some Titleist DCI Gold

After that it was Mizuno MX-23, definitely my favorite clubs ever

First "real" set was Ping i3's. My parents took me to Ping in Phx. and I was fitted in the gold color code (obviously I was short lol). Great clubs and experience w/ Ping.

 

In high school I moved onto Hogan Apex blades but should've stuck with the Ping's with an updated shaft/fitting. Ego got the best of me...

First set was purchased by my folks for me when I was 14. They were Spalding irons and woods and a big red Spalding bag. Here's a pic of the irons I found on the net. Mine were lefty. I think they were around 150 bucks for the set at Canadian Tire in 1980. 

    I used the woods for a long time after I upgraded irons. Made a hole in one with the 5 wood in 1991.
