Is a Ping 425 SFT really a "slice killer"

It absolutely was for me. I played the G425 SFT for about 2 months earlier this year (probably had 10 rounds with it). It was VERY hard to hit a slice...and I was mostly bombing it down the center. My miss turned into an occasional duck hook left, but would have to put a real bad swing on it for that.

 

I ended up swapping it out for a G425 MAX with weight in the draw setting. Main reason was I was just starting to take lessons and I didn't wait to be locked into the SFT if my swing started to improve. Still working on my swing...but occasionally when I do hit a slice I wish I still had that SFT....

No. The Wilson LP was pretty hard to miss right for me but I could still do it . Nothing is going to cure an open face.

OP check out this Lee Whitaker vid. He is currently playing the Sim2 max D. He said he tried the ping sft and said it was very hard to miss it right.

CurrentIy play G400 Max for last 4 years after K15 for a couple of years. K15 has SFT technology. Another club spec that changed with G400 series (possibly in G series) was counter balance shaft. More weight at butt of shaft to counter heavier head (only in comparison to other OEMs, there is not standard weight)) and longer overhaul length for swing weight (which is a feel measurement). Some golfers like the counterbalance feel, some don't. My miss in prior years was left (for a rt handed golfers, I am a lefty), but his year a straight right push has crept in. No matter how much anti slice tech is built in, if the swing is out to in or an open club face at impact, the ball is going to fade/slice.

It depends on what causes your slice.  SFT is very effective if you struggle to square the face at impact. It's not going to cure the slice caused by a significant out to in clubhead path.  It's also a good option to try if you tend to miss heal side.  I know some excellent players that were fit to SFT's and Sim Max D's to help on the heel biased miss.

As does @Sons_of_Pitches :)... I loved the driver so much I ended up pulling the trigger on the 3W and 5W.  Paired with the Ventus blue (driver) and Ventus red (FW) they have been the best woods I have owned.  Best driving year I have ever had and hitting the FW off the deck or tee is super easy.
