Srixon ZX Hybrid - anyone using it?

I played ZX7 all year and love the irons.

Love them.  Playing them again in 2022 but swapping shafts going from the Modus to $Taper.

I am ordering another set and don't love my Tis3 Hybrid

Anyone playing the Srixon?  I looks good - pretty big and confidence inspiring.  I would get 19 deg.    Anyone try them?

How is it off the rack? What is the stock shaft?

2024 Bag TBD

I like mine. Great off the tee especially. I wish it flighted lower but that’s more on me than anything. The stock shaft is a UST 95 which is actually a iron shaft. I bought the club untested. I will more than likely swap the shaft over the winter. But it’s forgiving. I had a slight toe bash and it went straight but about 25/30 yards short. Flush shots you will know. It’s a little mushy but that doesn’t bother me at all. Some people think the sound is a little clicky. But again that doesn’t bother me.

good luck!

That's good to hear, as ordered the 2h and looking to kick the driver out of the bag. You have the regular shaft or stiff? I ordered stiff which may have a bit lower launch.

Will post my thoughts of it once I played with it a few times, though that is likely not for another month.

I've had the 19° in the bag all year. It's a solid club that looks good and does what I need. Nothing special distance wise but that's not what most want out of a hybrid anyway. Stock shaft options are either the riptide or hzrdus black. Went with the riptide in order to get more height. Will be keeping it around next year.

Hello anyone compared the Zx to the Ping g425?

Watching this with interest. I'm not in love with my G425 hybrid compared to the G410.  I LOVE my Cleveland Hy-wood. Bag has slowly morphed into a lot of Srixon/Cleveland gear. I'm still in the PGATourSS Playability window. I'm thinking of the ZX or Launcher hybrid to replace it....

I agree. Loved my g400 hybrid

The g425 not so much. I have tried 3 different shafts and also have the 7 & 13g weights to play with. May look for a g400 on eBay

I found a G400 w/ tour ad di 85 at a good price (2nd swing maybe) last season. Despite hating the turbulators and not really big on the matte finish, I can't bump this thing out no matter what I try.  I'm more of a traditionalist so would rather have something glossy and old school.  But the G400 finish takes a beating, head size is really in the sweetspot and I can work this thing up down around etc.  So I guess I am stuck. 🤣

This threat looks to be dead but I did mention above I would come back once I hit mine. Took it out last Saturday for the first time, finally. Excellent, fully as I hoped it to be. As long as my Nike Covert 2 3w and with a nice flight (not too high) but without having to tee it up. No fade or draw bias - pretty much hit them all straight (I did push a few..🥴).

Mine is a 16 degree 2 hybrid with Hzardus Smoke Black 80g low spin stiff shaft. Driver will stay out and this is the longest club in the bag now.

Did you end up getting your 19 degree?

Not entirely on point but I have the Srixon H85 in 19 and 22. They are fantastic. Solid and good distance. I enjoy switching to the latest and greatest equipment but not changing these out. The ZX hybrid seem similar. If the H85 would mysteriously disappear I would get the ZX.

I put the 19* with stock Riptide stiff in my bag this season and love it so far.  I'm trying to fill the "over 200 but not 3-wood" slot at the top of the bag.  Have gamed an old PRGR 200i for years, but I'm slowing down and was having trouble out of the rough.  The ZX is easy to hit, doesn't hook, and I find the shaft effortless.  Stock shot is high and lands soft.  The PRGR was more versatile in that I could hit many different shots - I don't think the ZX is suitable for the stinger off the tee, for example.  I've hit a lot of hybrids, but this is the first one that doesn't feel "clicky" to me.  I only have about 10 rounds with it, and some days it never leaves the bag, so take it for what its worth.

Play the 16 degree one. Goes about 265 for me with a little draw somewhat consistent. Left in the stock shaft as I wanted spin to keep it in play. The head is high launch low spin which is good and bad depending on your needs.
like all Srixon woods it’s under valued by a lot. Ball speeds where crazy high for me when I was fit so it fits that need off the tee for me instead of a three wood. Still launches off the deck with somewhere around 10-15 yards less than the tee. Prior to it Fought with three woods that wanted to go left on me. So I wouldn’t call it a draw bias but others might.

Not new but follow up from above. Have used it for months now and it does not disappoint. It goes long and straight. Stiff shaft gives mid-high flight which is good for the windy conditions we often have. I regularly out-drive my playing partners with their drivers. One comment from playing partner last Saturday after smashing it down the fairway: "don't buy a driver..."

my driver is permanently out of the bag now, which is good, as I have decided to go half set only from now on (I need to update my signature). Got a lightweight stand bag with 8 clubs (Srixon 2h, Cobra 3 utility iron, TM M6 7i, Inesis 9i, TM RSi 50o,  Cleveland RTX full face 54o, Cleveland 588 60o, Wilson M1 putter) - I love the feeling of freedom that gives me over dragging a trolley around.

Great club, you won't be disappointed
