Of course not to the KF success.  Not really relevant to Ryder Cup play. If it was Chris Smith, Heath Slocum, Chad Campbell, Patrick Moore, Tom Carter and Jason Gore would have been picked. Only Campbell ever made a Ryder Cup team. Webb Simpson would have been the safest pick as he was experienced AND was higher on the points list than Scheffler.

  All I am saying is that hindsight says it was a good pick.  We will never know if any of the others would have done better, same or worse. Perhaps “iffy” is a wrong word to use for it but it certainly was not the obvious pick….except in hindsight it turned out great.

Did you know he had over 90 wins as an amateur growing up around Dallas? He has pretty much won consistently at every level he has played at. I would imagine that Strick knew that along with being buds with Speith and Bryson.

Now amateur success is a yardstick for a Ryder Cup pick?  Yes, we were all pretty sure he WOULD BE successful as a pro.  But at that point he was not most deserving of the choice.  
That said he played well in the RC.
