Irons-New Level 902s

right handed

I prefer forged irons, these look to be the right type of design to fit my eye and provide feel/feedback without being too demanding. I obviously am not bound to OEMs (playing New Level 902 forged irons)

I absolutely agree to participate in the thread with honest reviews etc

Takomo Golf and GolfWRX have an extremely exciting opportunity for our members to test out the brand new Iron 201s! These irons are set to release at the end of the month to the general public. The 201 is a forged player’s iron with control, distance, and great feel. We are looking for three testers to test out Takomo's new irons and report back to the community with what they see.

About Takomo Golf's Iron 201 Set

  • Precision-forged S20C steel gives the Iron 201 a soft feel and responsiveness. The back and face are finished with a custom milling process.
  • The Iron 201 cavity back design makes it forgiving while retaining workability. The milled back pocket adds ball speed and moves the center of mass low for additional forgiveness.
  • The stock setup is designed for mid to high launch and distance. The 201 comes with 3 different shaft options from KBS: Tour 105, C-Taper, and C-Taper Lite. For this testing event, only C-Taper (low launch) and C-Tape Lite (mid/high launch) will be available.
  • The stock grip, Lamkin Crossline, is designed for golfers who demand Tour-proven performance with classic looks.

5. I'm a feel player.  Although I primarily hit a draw, I enjoy working the ball whenever possible.  Being a feel player, I'd love to see how the S20C steel face feels like as well as what kind of consistency and workability this club will offer.  I'm in the market for new clubs, having hit the T100's already i'd love a fresh option to Titleist.  I've become a big fan of smaller companies these days regardless of the vertical.  I feel like you get a better product with better customer service while supporting a lesser known brand.  It's a win win
6. Yes.  I'm also a geek so I have plenty of cameras as well as a launch monitor to provide the raw data.

5. Why do you want to review the Takomo 201 irons? It is a beautiful iron and I would love to get the opportunity to try a boutique brand. It is really exciting for me that there are more and more options on the market, particularly for classic forged irons, but I’ve never been able to try any since most are DTC and hard to find to demo.

5. Why do you want to review the Takomo 201 irons?  I'm looking for a little more feel and control.  Especially looking for more feel in the short irons.  The 201's are also gorgeous, and I am very curious how the thin slot in cut into the back of the club improves sound/feel. I would love the opportunity provide feedback to the WRX community.

5. Why do you want to review the Takomo 201 irons? I want to support the DTC model. I learned about Takomo from TXG's favorable review of the Iron 101, and I'm intrigued to try the forged cavity-back Iron 201. Also, I'm interested to see whether the stronger lofts of the Iron 201 compared to my current irons will fit my game better.
