Bettinardi Studio Stock 28

Have looked for reviews online and there are only a few. 
 

picked one of these up at the local shop and rolled it in there practice area. Really liked it. 
 

curious to hear from anyone who’s tried one?

Just got one for my son last weekend. His game has evolved but he has had putting struggles (like his dad). He was rolling it quite well at the store and his line and distance control looked very good ... hopefully that trend will stick. Not enough time has passed to have any real sense of how it will perform. I hope it helps him. He can probably shoot some good scores with improved putting.

 

A few times I rolled it, it felt pretty good in comparison to Evnroll ER2.

I bought a new one a few weeks ago. The face is so mushy soft on it. I have only practiced with it once but I’m not sure it’s going to make it to the bag. I bought it after a fitting. 
I’ve been a center shaft guy for a while so it may take a little while to adjust but it feels softer than the white hot pro insert on my gamer

I don't have the SS28, but I do play an SS7. The best thing about the 2021 Studio Stocks is the Roll Control Face. Excellent soft feel and really gets the ball rolling true.

 

If you like the SS28 shape, I'd be surprised if you are disappointed with the purchase. Great putters.

I love the shape, I couldn't get over the face.  Softest/deadest face I've ever felt, and that's coming from somebody who prefers soft faces.

Yeah, that's how it first felt to me too. Took about three weeks of solid practice before I started really feeling the impact.

 

But, once you get used to it, it's hard to go back to anything else.

Hmm… that’s intriguing. I LOVE soft feeling putters.

If that's the case, I'd wager you'd like the feel of the Roll Control Face. It's soft but responsive. You don't have to put much effort into the stroke to get the ball to move. But, the softness gives you the ability to be a bit aggressive. Feedback is great once you get used to it.

 

Beyond that, it just puts a wonderful end over end roll on the ball. The ball wants to follow the line and tumble in the hole. It is uncanny. The only thing I can compare it to is the old Yes! C-Grooves - but better.

 

And full disclosure, I did get my Betti through a member review drawing here on WRX. But, I swear I wouldn't be talking it up if I didn't love it.

Just some quick feedback on this exact model. 

 

I rolled it last weekend in store and drained three 15 footers, then switched around to various other brands and models like some Evnrolls (nice) and Odysseys and missed a few. Burned some edges with the Ping 2021 DS 72.

 

Went back to the SS 28 and drained another. I had to leave or I would have bought it on the spot and deal with issues with the wife. I also tried a Queen B that looked similar but more square and squat. It was nice too, but the feel and roll off that SS 28 was ridiculous. The ball started rolling instantly on the line I intended and never waivered.

 

I must go back and try it again! I've rarely tried Bettinardi in the past and not tried these new models before, but I was seriously impressed.

Yeah, the feel and the roll is best summed up by the word "ridiculous." There is something to it. Might not be for everyone, but I'm certainly not interested in using anything else. Love my Betti.

I ended my experiment with it- thankful for the worldwide golf shops 90 day guarantee. 
it was a super nice putter but my distance control wasn’t good enough. The face felt too soft. I may try the center shaft version one day

The short marriage with the SS28 is about to end in an ugly divorce. I LOVE the feel of the putter and the roll is great. I’m a relatively good putter but my distance control with this putter is atrocious. I just cannot get the ball to the hole. Even if I feel like I hammer one, it usually ends up short. I’m sure there are a lot of people who love the putter, but, it’s just not for me.

have you tried the queen bee lineup? the honeycomb face might be for you
