Shower Thought: Does "Swing to Right Field" fix everything in the downswing?

This is wild. As shown here, **through the release,** Rory’s club goes outward and his body provides the vast majority of the forward and inward element through the bottom of the swing. Obviously there are players who do it much differently, but I found this to be a good illustration of the topic at hand.

When I try to force a draw with this thought, its about even odds of me wiping across the ball/blocking it.

The simple answer to your question is NO. I was taught to swing in to out from the time I was 8 and developed a bad case of the hooks that took a long time to fix. My swing path was extreme along with a shut face at impact that caused the issues. It's best to have a more neutral swing path IMO.

I too once thought that swinging to right field was the answer. It actually was for me for a period of time. I played the best golf of my life with this thought for about a year and a half. Then last August while playing at the beach I hit shanks on back to back holes and I haven't really been the same since. It got so bad that I almost wanted to quit. Just 6 months earlier I shot 61 on a local muni course and thought I had it figured out. Just referencing this because while it can work for a short period of time it isn't the answer. I am struggling to find a new concept as we speak. I am sure that is has to do with me sucking the club back inside on the takeaway and some early extension but I haven't be able to fix that consistently. For a while, I really struggled with how to approach any iron shot and had anxiety over most iron shots. Lately I have had to revert back to almost trying to cast and hit up on the irons and that has at least allowed me to release the club. Wish I had a good answer for you but just my two cents to be careful with swinging to right field.
