LIV tour and The International

Any thoughts from former and current members (or anyone who has played it) on the Oaks Course hosting the Greg Norman LIV tournament in September? Will it stand up to the pros? Seems like a nice honor for the course.

Was under the impression they'd be playing the Pines. The new Oaks course is awesome. Not sure how it would stand up to "protecting par" but it would show on TV far better than the Pines course imo. Regarding the honor for the course, just seems like escalante properties were picked for the events. This seems to be their current crown jewel, especially if the Coore Crenshaw renovation actually happens, so it would do well to bring public eyes to the club.

It’s interesting the varying opinions on each course by the membership in terms of difficulty and preference (also what makes the club so great, two vastly different courses). The Pines renovation already started to an extent as they’ve removed a decent chunk of trees and have stakes/lines mapping out the new course. So I’m sure the Pines was out of the question for this tournament. I also think the Pines course closes early fall this year for the real land moving/construction to occur.

Regardless, definitely agree on Oaks being much better for the purposes of TV etc. The new bunkers and waste areas are unreal. Will be interested to see if it has enough teeth for the pros. Couple new tee boxes maybe?

Excited to hopefully get out there this year. Not a lot of spots with two 18’s, such a huge selling point.

If you're going, don't pay full price for tickets. In their other events they've pretty much been giving them away.

Can't stress this enough - you'll be able to get in for $1 via Stubhub. A friend got free VIP tickets for Saturday at Bedminster last week through business connections, and we were offered free VIP tickets to come back Sunday more than once while we were there.
