Have the PLD Tyne 4 and have been happy with it until a Scotty Cameron Select Flowback 5.5 knocked it clean out of the bag.

It is much smaller than the Sigma 2 Tyne 4 which caught me a bit off guard.

No doubt!  I would love to see a PLD version of the Sigma 2 Tyne 4, same dimensions.

On the topic of the Ping PLD Anser 2… does anyone know if the head weight is the same regardless of shaft length? I’ve only seen anywhere that the head weighs 350g. Seems you’d have very different swing weights depending on the length you purchase. This is unlike the Scotty approach of using different sole weights for different lengths. Any insights would be great. Thanks, guys!

The DS72 just kicked my Scotty Cameron Notchback out of the bag (a putter I love). I’ve simply been making more putts with the PLD. Great product.

I have a PLD Anser and a Vault Anser Dale, both at 36”

Love the PLD feel and speed off the face (plays 350g)

Not a big fan of the “True Roll” face on the Vault

Love the graphite shaft on the PLD

Love the weight adjustability on the Vault (plays 337g)

Love the slightly smaller, rounded shape of the Vault

Love the no sight aid on the PLD

Love the blackout head on both PLD and Vault

Love them both!

If I could have a PLD face milling with the graphite shaft AND the Vault Dale head shape with the adjustable weighting option in one putter. Pure Gold!

Love them both. I have been putting great with the Anser lately on the speedy summer greens here in AZ. My only regret is the grip I put DS72 -- but that's an easy fix.

I have a DS72 and am IN LOVE. Putted so good my first time out with it at Sand Valley. Dynamite inside 15 feet. And great speed control from distance.

I’m going to head down to HQ in February to get refit and possibly get a anser 2D as a backup. That was the other shape recommended in my fitting.

Im very impressed with the look and feel. No regrets whatsoever

Got myself an Anser and Anser 2. It’s crazy how drastically different they feel. Wanted to love the all black Anser, but I can’t consistently return the club head square and I strike it very low on the blade very often. Part of me thinks it’s related to the graphite shaft

Meanwhile, the Anser 2 is absolutely perfect. Perfectly balanced throughout the stroke and the feel at impact is better as well.

Might end up selling the Anser since I just can’t putt as well with it.

Love my Anser. Super clean look, great feel off the face and puts a good roll on the ball. Didn’t know how I’d like no flange line but it’s actually making me not second guess my line as much.

I need it at 36” but always scares me adding length on these graphite putter shafts

I'm with you 100%. I've played for 35 years and have never went no sight line. I took a chance and immediately my putting improved. My long lag putts are now kick ins. No sight line has definitely freed up my stroke.

I added an inch to my PLD Anser as I play all my putters at 36”. I bought a variety pack of composite tubes (eBay) but still had to grind one down a bit to fit. Used plastic adhesive to set it in and added an extra wrap of blue painters tape at the top then two wraps of painters tape under the grip. I blow my grips on with air which makes them easily changeable. I was able to blow off the stock grip and reuse it but be prepared for replacing if it won’t come off easily.

My 1968 Magbrz Anser has no site line which I started with and through the years slowly adapted to a flange line with newer putters. With no sight line on the PLD it was instantly comfortable and preferred.

Don’t fear it, do it!

Odyssey also makes different weighted heads depending on length (or at least they used to).  I am sure Ping will get you whatever head weight you want and I would be very surprised if they didn't adjust head weight for length  (you can request a specific swingweight  which would mean adjusting  the head weight).  First and foremost Ping is an engineering company.  They make stuff that works.  I will refrain from bashing Scotty too harshly (I do have a Del Mar on order because Ping doesn't make that exact  head shape.)  Scotty Cameron won't even add build up tape to a grip on a brand new order. They also claim that any paint fill done by a third party will void any warranty (it is literally paint...nothing that affects the club itself in any way.  Odyssey and Ping stand behind their stuff enough to at least realize that paint fill does not affect a club's integrity).  Scotty Cameron has the absolute worst customer service I have ever come across with golf equipment).  Please don't ever consider Ping second rate to Scotty Cameron.

I have a Mint Limited Edition Ping PLD Prime Tyne 4.   I like it just can’t get use to a mallet.   It’s for sale if anyone is interested.

Personally, I have no problem with you posting that here but I do believe it is against forum rules to post BST items in here.  You may need to create a BST listing to suggest a club is for sale.

I have a Tyne 4 that just barely knocked out an Odyssey Slant Eleven. And only because how high end the Tyne seems and because I wanted a smaller head. I’m thoroughly enjoying it but the distance control on slower greens is still a work on progress for me. The head feels hotter than it really is.

I love just about everything about it but I wouldn’t have minded if the milled face was less aggressive either.

Is anybody not icing significant scratches on the bottom of their PLD? Especially the black finishes? I had the anser 2 and after two rounds it looked like it was 200 rounds old, and I take care of my clubs. Just the sole. Nothing else.

has anybody else seen quick wear on the sole of their PLD?

Not on mine.  No issues with unusual wear.
