Caddie for every round at Bandon?

Headed to Bandon in October as a single. Playing all five courses in 2.5 days, only requested a caddie for my day at PD / BD. I did not add for my day at OM / SR or my afternoon at BT. Should I add the other 1.5?

Depends on how much you walk normally and if you need/want the guidance.

2 years ago played 3 days, 27 a day plus Preserve every day, no caddies, 1 day 18, I was 61 my buddy 66 we like to walk and figure things out for ourselves.

I think you'd probably benefit quite a bit from a caddie's advice on Old Macdonald and Bandon Trails, as there's plenty of blind tee shots and approaches on both. Sheep Ranch is much more visible and the easiest walk, so if you were to skip a caddie anywhere, skip it on Sheep Ranch.

Caddies call the OM/Trails 36 the hardest walk on property. Most I’ve spoke with hate it to the point that they avoid it and try to talk their player out it. 
 

I have done it and it’s a long day. I am a walker and went straight to the hot tub after it.

Haha, last year I played Old Mac in the morning, Trails in the afternoon, and then the 1-5, 17-18 Trails short loop after. It honestly wasn't that bad, but I wouldn't intentionally schedule it that way again. Of course when I extended my trip for this November by a day and changed my course rotation, I ended up with Old Mac/Trails on day 2. Oh well.

I really think a caddie adds to the experience and value of the course. I would do a caddie at each round. It just makes it fun.

As long as he knows which fairway to hit at Sheep Ranch. It can be confusing your first time out there.

Good point. My first round we came off 4 and were preparing to tee off on 15 until someone stopped us and directed us over to the 5th tee. If playing SR without a caddy I’d highly suggest paying attention to the group ahead of you and making sure to follow them

Thank you both - I ended up adding for my OM / SR day.

Caddy opinions are Trails is the hardest walk, followed by Pacific.

 

Just a few weeks ago I riksha'd Pacific in the morning, then had a caddy for Trails.  I was still feeling it that night.

I'd recommend yardage books for rounds without a caddy.

 

Another reason to get a caddy - the round moves faster.
