I was bored today so i did this to my mp32's

Its hard to tell how dark they are with the flash, so this is one without flash.

 

 

They were originally black, then raw for about 4 months. I played with "tpariff" they other day, he saw them raw and rusty, and now this. Ill let you know when I get bored and change them again. matt

gun blue, some nail polish, and wd-40. I have to keep them soaking in oil overnight so they don't rust. even though rusty black looks kind of cool too.

they were custom from mizuno japan, I will post info a little later on what I did. They look really cool now that they are dry.

I'm more interested in how you got them to the "Raw" state in the first place. Can they be ordered that way? Did you strip the chrome off, and if so how? How much does this affect the swingweight?

You can custom order mizuno's from mizuno japan with all kinds of different finishes, grinds, offset, stampings. Flat Black, Shiny Black, nickel, satin, I think there are some more, too. Mine were originally flat black. You have to order them through the golfwrx's former sister site tourspecgolf.com. Just search for custom mizuno or just pm chris aka tourspecgolfer on that site.

no special grind, it wasn't available 1 1/2 years ago when I bought these. Just flat black, with 'm' stamp in the corner.

Persoanlly, the flat black sound wonderful to me, but you have a cool set of sticks there! I thought you ground off the MP-32 badging at first! LOL! Thanks for clarifying!

hi guys i'm new here....i like the raw finish look...not crazy about the black but to each his own...it looks well done i will say that much...i have the 32's in the traditional chrome...if i wanted to take them to raw what could i do to keep them from rusting??? is there any kind of coating that would do that?

Coke would keep the rust off, but you will have to remove the chrome to get raw, and you will have to add weight to get them back to the original weight, I think it is 8 grams.

the paint fill color has got to go...if you keep them black, go with a white paintfill. Personally, I would go back to raw with a white or dark blue paintfill

I can't speak for his 32s, but there is a noticable difference to me between chrome and raw MP 33s. (see avatar...gun blu'd before they rusted)

this is over a year old by the way guys (december 2005). they are now completely raw and rusty. i have changed them numerous times over the last couple of years. thinking about sending them to the iron factory for a satin finish for the new year.
