Not sure what the exact term is but some of us not younger types will bring their own foldable "soccer mom" chairs to relax from time to time. Everyone's not used to being on your feet 7-8 hours with lunch break. Some may also bring smaller cooler for beverages. Some facilities may be a bit away from clubhouse.  (or as was the case a few years ago in Chicago, the course ran out of water during a 100 degrees afternoon.!)  Include an extra Gatorade or two for the instructor, will keep him on your good side.

Recall his favorite flavor of gatorade? I can stoop to bribery!

He's kinda weird, you'll be hitting and he could be involved with someone else for a bit, and when you hit that goofy one that you hope no one notices, he's all over it and suggesting a fix.(or maybe he just does that to me to drive me nuts!)  He's got those mother-in-law eyes, sees everything, forgets nothing. Scary but good if you know what I mean.

This made me think of Instructor Patstone from the Navy SEAL documentary....how he watches the students with his back turned.  Monte is "nicer" though.  😀

Need to ask, who is this Monte are you speaking of??  Doesn't quite sound like the person I am familiar with?! 😜

Teddy Bear - tip for first timers, just say "this feels weird" a couple of times if you want a reassuring hug and a bit of encouragement.

LOL, never had anyone try to freeload, the folks there are paying and happily so for Monte’s time and attention and usually at a semi-private spot on a range. I mean, if Tiger showed up … 😀

Lol, very true. I don't know that he would have come anyway but I'm going to my brothers house to stay for the clinic. He was a mini tour guy that doesn't play much anymore so he probably could care less.

I went last yr and it was fantastic. What we worked on in August is now starting to show up on the golf course without thinking about it.

Not going this yr (taking that money and going to Pinehurst) but the clinic is 30 mins from me. I could casually be at the range for a few 😂

Not knowing what to expect, I found day 1 to be quite good. There’s a range of abilities in the group and a number of us have very similar issues.

I already have three key things to work on. One each for putting, short game, and full swing.

The flaw he pointed out to me has never come up in any of the lessons I have taken in the last two years either. I thought that was interesting.

So far it’s been a great experience and I’m glad I pulled the trigger on it.

ATL clinic is over and it was great. I don’t recall who recommended the playing lesson but it was awesome. So much to learn!

I've been spending the last two days trying to tell everyone what I learned, just so maybe I'll remember most of it! What a great time, not what I was expecting at all. Monte spent maybe 10 minutes on my individual swing and I learned a lot more than I can even put into words.

Met some great guys there as well, highly recommend it.

Yes siree bobby!  He always is telling me there's one in very crowd when I show up!  (not sure that's a good thing!)   😇

The time I got, "here is the most stubborn swing in the history of golf" at a clinic my daughter couldn't stop laughing.  Happy to be a sacrificial lamb to liven things up for the group.  And . . . haha, it was true so couldn't really argue. 😀

I just added myself to the waitlist for New Jersey. Fingers crossed that a spot opens up.

Hopefully you get a chance to go.

It's been almost a month since the clinic I attended. It's been a game changer, granted I'm a 22, so a lot of room to improve. I've been working on what Monte said to and using some stuff from the playing lesson. I am already seeing real improvement. My scores are bouncing around, as expected, but what started to stand out is I started to have more real good holes. I have been giving myself more real opportunities to get a par, and some have turned into lucky birdies. It's not all sunshine and puppy dogs. My driver went MIA from the clinic until roughly a few days ago. Still a lot of work to do, so I don't want anyone thinking that it's a quick fix. It's not.

Just trying to say if you listen to what @MonteScheinblum says at the clinic and actually work on it, good things will eventually happen. Some of the best time and money I have ever invested in golf.

Just reviving this thread because I went in July of this year as a 5.9 index that was really struggling with too many swing thoughts and feels and I am currently sitting at a 2.8, which is the lowest index I have ever carried. I know hdcp index isn't a perfect measurement of improvement but I am seeing it across my entire game. I took a lot of notes and I refer back to them frequently. I have to say, for me and my swing, this stuff works and is quite counter to a lot of the golf instruction that was shoved down my throat by Golf Channel/Golf Digest/etc. I have formally replaced my golf trip with this clinic trip and I am looking forward to the release of next year's schedule.

Same for me. This was some of the best money I have ever spent on golf. I was roughly a 22 index when I was at the clinic. Today, I'm sitting at 15.1 and I shot a personal best 82 back in early June. I've seen improvement in all aspects of my game. Still a ton of work to do but the results speak for themselves.

I’m looking forward to Monte‘s clinic in Atlanta in a couple weeks. I’m encouraged by the experiences you all have posted. I’m at my wits end and golf is no longer enjoyable so I hope I can come home with something positive.

Based on my limited experience with Monte I suspect that you will get something useful to work on.  It may take some serious effort to implement whatever he prescribes but should be worth it in the long run.
