New Talormade tour burner/TP & CGB limited

I tried it...

In VAncouver B.C. there was a golf show this past weekend (no titleist as per normal) and there was not too much that hadnt hit the shelf yet ecxept two things that caught my eye. The tour burner ant TP, and the CGB limited with the three shafts. I walked by the TM booth and it caught my eye. The tour burnrer was painted silver on top but i was told that i will be released in may in black. Also the CGB ltd look SOOOOO good. they rounded it out, opened the face (it is acually open and not the burner TP kinda open) and looks prettty darn HOT. Al three shafts were there, the x-con 5, diamana wb 63 and rombax tp-75. Alsp the Spider was there and does not look all that bad for a GIANT putter. Finally the new tp wedge with a shiny satin finnish an Z grooves.

After talking to the rep for a while i finally got a chance to hit them. Tour Burner TP.....SOLID. whoa it felt good. it had a tm graphics diamana 63 and i belive it was a white board. and the CGB ltd looked sooo good at adress, even with the red which i could do with out. if the top was black there would be a new driver in everyones bag. i hit it with the x-con 5 and the shaft felt great. the head felt, well the best way to put it is like the regular CGB just better.

all in all i was pleased with the clubs and think they will do well

The CGB Max Limited retails in the UK for £649.00 thats $1400 US or there abouts.

Only 400 sets will be available

Saw a video of this on Todaysgolfer.uk website. It does look very interesting.

and if i remember correctly it is 416cc or somewhere in that range. smaller more rounded and open faced. it looks really good.

They are pretty solid, I have hit one too. If I remember right there are only like 5000 world wide, and then depending on sales they will choose to follow or abandon this route. The Burner Tour TP was very solid, I was surprised. I cant wait to see how these drivers do for Taylormade.

The flyer states 415cc, however, it's a typo from what I heard. The head is 450cc

according to the official TM literature, the Diamana is a Whiteboard 65 and not a 63. was the one you saw a real aftermarket Diamana or a TM/OEM version?

it is a whiteboard 63 in tp graphics (as they all are) and i was told it is the real thing. it is 65 g.

All of the shafts will be the actual versions and not a version made for Taylormade which is close to $900 worth of shafts.

They should be shipping toward the middle end of April.

No, its correct. The head is very small by today's standards. I compared it to my 425 TP and it does look a touch smaller.

I saw the Tour Burner last night at a show in King of Prussia, PA, and, wow, it really WAS ugly.

I didn't think that I would care what a driver looked like, or that I thought this might be as bad in person as the photos make it look (to me). But, I really did find the shape unappealing (you DO see the side bulge at address, and it does have a very D1-looking triangular shape to it). The color also didn't appeal to me, and this one that I saw looked pretty closed as well.

The overall shape of the CGB DID appeal to me, but I'm not sold on the red color.

I am still considering the current Burner (I'd want to get on a LM first to see if it is "right" for me). Hopefully the new Burner will bring the price of the current Burner down...
