Any of you crusty old WM Open veterans out there? Looking for some advice about purchasing tickets / attending the tournament. Any advice welcome

What are you trying to do while there? This year will be different because of elevated status and Super Bowl.

We were thinking Thursday or Friday tickets. Probably just people watching and the ability to move around.

Never been before and figured with the Super Bowl it would be a bit different than otherwise

Thursday/Friday most years are pretty easy to move around. If your goal is to go to the super popular areas (16 and a couple others) you will likely need to plan on waiting in line. Outside of that it’s not bad.

GA parking is easy. Uber lets out somewhere nearby too.

Tickets are easy - they are sold everywhere.

Best plan to consider is go have breakfast somewhere a few miles away, then order an Lyft from there to the WM. You don't really want to be driving in the vicinity - too much of a pain.

The area on 1 & 18 is the people watching area - from tee shots, to shots into 18, drunks falling down the hill and girls in stillettos trying to peacock.

For the golf, the best place to hang out is around 12 - you can see multiple holes, but I think there may be some new structures this year that may reduce the views, but still should be good. The best stretch to walk is 6-9. And the best place to stand is on 9 on the right side of the fairway - a lot of shots come to the right side and you get very close to the golfers. Plus the range is near there and the chipping green to watch the players as you pass by.

Take an Uber and enter and exit through the gate at the Princess hotel. You will enter on 5 tee and miss all of the walk and commotion through the merch tent. There's a huge beer garden south of 5 now so easy spot to get food and beer rather than trying to wade through 10, 18, 17, 16 mass of humanity. If you want a beer garden without being in the 16, 17 area, go to the hill in between 12 and 6. It's like what 15-17 used to be where you can actually get a beer and watch golf and hang out. If you want to watch the sh*t show of drunks standing in line for 2 hours to get into 16 a good spot for that is 11 tee or 17. You can watch golf while they all walk past you falling down the hills in their stillettos.
