I have owned Puma golf shoes in the past and will say that the two pairs I had were well made and durable. LP the fashionable golfer says, " a pair of khaki shorts with a solid white golf polo would work the best." 😅 Let those shoes be your outfits main statement. ⭐

Never owned Pumas before. They feel pretty good, and I hope they work out. I usually pick a supportive shoe over anything else — weight, cushion, etc. These were a whim purchase at a great price so when my #### digestive tract settles down I’ll see how they work out!
 

My R foot has structural problems, crushed toes and crushed calcaneus, then nerve damage and stiffness from the surgery to repair the calcaneus. I don’t complain about it though — it is common for someone with a serious calcaneus fracture to be unable to walk. I cannot jog or run, and going down stairs I have to be careful, but overall I’ve got it really good. I’m just really picky about shoes. 
 

Yes, first member guest since joining this place. 👍🏼 I’m looking forward to it because I love to compete and love the camaraderie. I think it will be a relatively small event because we have a pretty small membership, but no matter what we will have fun. My buddy (we’ve been tight since 1995, he’s like a brother to me) is coming in from AZ and he LOVES competitions. We always have a good time playing together.

It has been a spell since I spied anything cool at the bag drop worthy enough to share in the Lounge. Today I came across a golf bag with this cool vintage set up.

I'm very excited for what we have set up for golf on Monday.

Stan, Ryan, and I are heading down to Lake Lure, NC. to play Apple Valley. We have a noon tee time and the weather is supposed to be less humid and sunny with a high temp of 84* !

I last played the course in Sept. of 2022 (the last photo is from that round) and really enjoyed it.  Stan played there last Monday and said the course is in primo condition.

In my Georgetown/DC years I on occasion when hitting the clubs would wear a pair of fine black dress slacks, a starched white long sleeve dress shirt, and a pair of something real close to these.

I can’t get to Phil’s level. Tom Ford makes his pants (at least he used to) and he used to have a ton of exotic shoes - gator and others.

I am however, a living contradiction on this, as I also think golf is a sport, and there is nothing wrong with wearing athletic clothes to play a sport. I’m glad that dress codes have been and continue to be more relaxed, and I’m equally pleased that there are good athletic clothes that look good too.

Ran over to Spokane to play some golf.  I actually took a few photos.

 

 

the last shot is 18 and it looks like there’s about 10’ of landing between the trees on the right and the bunker on the left.  I hooked it deep into the trees on the left.  I wasn’t even close.

 

 

First time Mrs broke 100!

I can't say that I have ever played in a Kilt.  I rocked Plus Fours once in my 20's (back in DC ) when I wanted to feel on the course for once just like my favorite player at the time Payne Stewart. I also had on that day a pair of all white FJ Classics. This round was when I got invited to play Congressional CC. The original home course of the Kemper Open. It was the Blue course that they held the tournament on in those days before they moved it to TPC at Avenel. The one Ken Venturi  won the US Open on in 105* heat index conditions. I got killed. I shot a 97 that day but I looked dang sporty while getting humbled. 

Anyone else in the Lounge ever don a Scottish man skirt while playing a round of golf? Dudes got lots of all black socks going on and his forearms are all inked. aen approved. 😀

Probably mid 70s.  It’s a fun course.  We head over every year.  We like it.
