I was just at a Titleist fitting yesterday. Planned to really put the T200's through it's paces since I had the 2021 T200's. I had recently swapped out my 2021 T200's for a combo ZX7 (5-7)/ZX5 (8-P) and I loved them so far. Guy had me start with T100's (I said why not) and surprisingly I loved them. Maybe 5yds shorter than compared to 2021 T200 but solid. Really loved the extra tungsten weighting at the bottom of the club. Then hit the T150's, loved them too. Didn't notice any perceptible difference in the size. Finally hit the T200's. Much better sounding than 2021 T200's but the strike quality/sound and distance didn't blow me away compared to how well I was hitting the T100's/T150's. Final touch was guy had me hit the 3/4 irons for T100's, T150's. I surprised myself how well I hit these because I was intent on trying the new U505 (vs. my current prior gen U505). Compared to the ZX5/ZX7 I would say the T100/T150's went higher and maybe a bit further. Compared to T200's (2021 or 2023) they are shorter but I expected this due to the diff in lofts.

Summary is that I really liked the T100's and T150's. Tempted to get the T150's because they look just like the T100's but loft and distance are a hair more. Don't feel I need to do the T200's at all and maybe can avoid the U505 and just go a full set of 4-PW. I think compared to the ZX7 directly they are going higher and further (T100/T150 both). You can really feel the mass at the bottom/back of the club vs. the ZX7.

For reference I was hitting the T100/T150/T200 with a SteelFiber cw110 stiff, 2* flat (same as what I had in T200 and same as I have in ZX5/ZX7 combo). For the 3/4 iron I hit the stock steel AMT White/Black S300, not 2* flat and I still hit it pretty good. I did hit the new U505 with a GD IZ 95. It looks a hair more meatier than the prior gen, definltely easy to hit with that much meat behind the club but I wouldn't say it blew me away, nor was it as big a diff from the prior gen. I still really enjoyed the T100/T150 4 iron.

Thanks for the write-up!

Curious for those who went through a fitting, did anyone get to test out the new T200 utility iron? I saw on other forums that while they're promoting the new U505, that there is a new T200 U build, but unsure if it's available for fittings.

I hit the 2 iron and it was just a little too flat for me and gapping wise didn’t make sense.

Got it. I scheduled a fitting for tmrw at Trump PV, so I'm curious what assortments they'll have to try, especially from a shaft standpoint.

Do you recall if there was a T200 U build for the 4i? Reading your review, it sounds like you're a low spin/low launch player, hence you needed something to give you some more spin/height?

There was a lot of shaft options and honestly I didn’t even try many because I favor the PX LZ but I did try DG 120 and TI S400. I do not recall a T200 U 4, I only tried the normal T200 4 and that’s what I ended up going with. I’m actually a little different I do have lower spin but have a 7 iron peak height of around 100-110 feet and my driver is kind of in the same window. I’ve always held greens well do to my descent angle even though with my CB 7 iron spin rate is around 5800 RPM but I saw a big jump in my spin rate with the 150 to around 6600.

Was the infill cap on the back of the new T200 made from the same cheap plastic or actual metal?

not the same. felt much better. dunno if metal or some other alloy, but did not have the same click, and on good hits had much softer sound.

I did a fitting yesterday on the new clubs. The T200 utility was amazing. I ended up with the T150 for PW-5 and the T200 for the 4. Fitter was initially worried the gap with the T200 might be too big but after a couple of hits with the 5 iron, the gap was fine. I think they key difference was it took me 5 swings to get the T150 5 iron dialled. The T200 utility was so easy to hit, I had it dialed first hit. I have never been a huge fan of long irons like a 2 but I'm tempted to consider a 2 iron as well.

Dang I did my fitting Monday and still haven’t gotten tracking. I’m in So Cal so was hoping they would come for the weekend.

Current iron set - Mizuno MP15, PX LZ 6.0.

FItted for T100, PX LZ 6.0.

Outdoor trackman fitting numbers showed that the MP15 was a lower flight, high spin iron. The T100, with the same shift increased the trajectory and descent angle, while also lowering backspin ~300 rpm. Good stuff.

Reportedly, Actual release August 3, In stores August 25.

Seems people are getting orders in early mostly through official Titleist fitting days that are being held around the country (that's how I got mine in), or somehow "know a guy" who can place an order early.

Gotcha... I had to reread your initial post after your comments lol... so you were looking for more spin while maintaining your existing flight window/apex if I'm hearing you right? It's interesting to hear you with a CB, then transition to a heavier/tungsten backed head with less loft to achieve the same yardage in the same window with more spin. Then again, that heavier head must be influencing ball speed and dynamic loft to essentially give you the same distance with more spin to land. I'm surprised the fitter didn't try to corral you into other shafts while keeping you in a T100 head as a better player (not to mention that loft gapping now made you pick up a new GW lol).

The only other shaft that might have made sense was the modus for my feel preference but it never ends well with me and those shafts. I would say the heavier head had a lot to do with the spin increase for sure. The gapping kind of worked out for me being I play a 16.5 TSR2 and will now be playing a 21 degree 4 iron. I can’t really think of many courses in So Cal that I’m needing more than 250 yards into a green and if I were I would probably be laying up anyways.
