I will get this party started with my initial review of the Edison 2.0 wedges which I requested in 51/55/59 configuration.

I’ll be honest, when I first saw the wedges on Edison’s web site as part of this contest, I was underwhelmed. I assumed they’d be large and chunky. I also didn’t love the styling. But I figured it’d be cool to win and give them a shot. When I was picked as a winner I was really excited especially when I learned I would get to speak with Terry Koehler directly. The fitting went great - Terry has a wealth of knowledge and I like his almost mutinous approach to club design.

I had my fitting with Terry Koehler on Monday and wedges were here on Friday. When I pulled them out of the box I was surprised at how gorgeous they were. The website pictures DO NOT do them justice. They are the exact opposite of my initial perception from the web site. And they are similar in size to a Vokey. Compared to a M grind, the sole is slimmer and the overall head might be a touch longer.

I took them to the range on Saturday. Unfortunately I was hitting off mats so I’ll have to judge turf interaction on full swings for another day. I started with partial 55° wedges and moved up to full swings with the 51°. If I could use one word to describe them: spinny. These wedges spin the heck off a ball.  I was stopping terrible range balls on a dime. Now the only downside was my distances were just slightly shorter than normal - maybe 1-3 yards, part of which could be attributable to the 1° of additional loft on each wedge.

I know what you’re thinking: new wedges equal sharp grooves and the spin won’t last. That could be true but I have a brand new Vokey 58° I just received and the spin wasn’t even close.

Forgiveness is definitely increased compared to a Vokey and is on level to my MG3 Hi-Toe wedges. Below is a pic of my first strike with the 51° wedge which is typical of miss towards the heel. The result was a perfect flighted wedge shot.

image.png.d63b9f08606b610e20b92bbd8799d7a1.png

Feel is much improved compared to Vokey and MG3 and comparable to Mizuno T22 wedges. All in all, I would definitely say I like them, a lot.

Now to the chipping green using the 55° sand wedge which is primarily what I use around the greens. My findings from the range were the same: spin city. Little chip shots were perfectly controlled. I compared the 55° to my Vokey 58° and again the Edison wedge was spinning at a much higher rate. I was hitting these little short sided chips to a pin on a downslope and the freaking ball was stopping on the downslope above the pin whereas the Vokey would run out. I know it is only one session with these wedges but I am uber impressed especially with them around the greens. The combo of the sole and spin results in unbelievably controlled shots.

Below I took some shots of the Edison wedge in comparison to the Vokey and MG3 Hi-Toe. The Edison wedge has the gold stripe in the ferrule. The comparisons were of the 58° MG3 and Vokey to the 59° Edison.

Also check out the detailed shots of the face milling!!!

So lucky and appreciative for being selected! Thank you WRX, Edison Golf and Mr. Koehler!  I have received the set of wedges (and swag) and have been able to play one round so far.  I will upload my unboxing photos and initial review within the week!

7/1

This has taken me a little longer than I had planned, just been very busy but here we go!

My experience after being selected began with receiving instructions on how to contact Mr. Koehler for a discussion on my golf game and current equipment including irons and wedge setup.  He inquired about course conditions I encounter and what time of shots I typically play and why as well as what difficulties I encounter in the wedge game.  We also discussed a couple brief side topics!  All in all, my interaction with Mr. Koehler was great!  A very nice, down to earth Texan who seemed genuinely interested in how he could help make me a better golfer during our brief conversation.  And he is most definitely a gear (wedge) guy!

For reference I play in northwestern Pennsylvania and encounter anywhere from very soft, wet conditions in Spring that gradually (faster this year) make their way to hard and dry mid to end of Summer and then wet again.  I am very involved with ice hockey and that season seems to begin earlier and earlier every year so once September hits I am able to make it out very infrequently.  My game hovers around the 9-10hcp with my greatest weakness being off of the tee.  I am a hitter of the ball and take a healthy divot when swinging well.

I currently play a 3 wedge setup: Nike Vapor Pro Combo AW, Callaway MD4 54 W grind and Callaway MD3 58 W grind.  I have grown very accustomed to the W grinds even though there a couple shots that the W grind make quite difficult.  The W grind probably costs me 1-2 shots per round, mostly from tight or bare lies that I have trouble getting the club under the ball and cannot open it up OR the sole bounces off of a hard or tight lie.  My Nike Vapor Pro Combo irons have a ground leading edge and my thought with the Edison wedges was that the V sole would be able to mimic the best attributes of my VPC irons and W grind wedges with the added benefit of being able to open up the clubface.

The box showed up at my door in 3 days I believe.  Edison Golf included some extra swag in the box which was a very nice surprise!  Included was a hat, divot tool with ball marker and a sleeve of OnCore Vero X1 balls.  This was a ball I wanted to try to that was definitely an extra bonus!!

I was fitted into a 51/55/59 combo.  The wedges themselves look great and I agree with all of the other reviewers who say the cavity is much less noticeable in person.  You really have to look close to see the face milling but you can definitely feel it.  Compared to my Callaway wedges they appear a little smaller to me but this could be due to the straighter leading edge of the Edison's or simply the color (Callaways being black).  The length of the Edison wedges is slightly longer than my current wedges (will get to this later).

I put the Edison wedges right in the bag.  It took a couple holes for me to get the feel for these because of the length and V sole to ground interaction.  Greenside, the leading edge sits much closer to the ground when the face is opened compared to the Callaway's.  I generally have been leaning on a basic, hands-free chip when I need to cover a couple to maybe 15 yards around the green.  I have practiced this a bunch to get it down over the past couple of seasons because I had some troubles in this area.  The Edison V sole cuts right through the grass much easier than the W grind and has made me have to adjust on this shot.  I am still working on how to best play this one out because my best shots with the Edison are great but the bad ones are far from it.  I grew pretty used to being able to get it close for a 5 footer and in.

Moving farther away from the green, anywhere from 40 to 65 yards is all feel for me but I have generally been trying to play shots that resemble Steve Stricker's flat wedge swing.  Again, the V sole cuts through the turf and makes me have to pay a little extra attention to the shot.  Well struck shots appear to fly lower than with the Callaway's or the VPC AW but play similarly once they touch the ground which I would suspect indicates more spin with the Edison's.

Anywhere from 65 to 90 yards I play what I refer to as 3/4 wedges but is really about a 3 o'clock backswing with a full follow-thru from there.  I adjust in 5 yard increments by either taking a full grip or gripping nearly down to the steel.  My AW full grip is 90, low grip is 85; SW (54) full grip is 80, low grip is 75; LW (58) full grip is 70, low grip is 65.  I adjust my desired flight by where the ball is in my stance.  When swing it well, these shots are money but if I'm off they can be disastrous!  The Edison wedges again seem to flight the ball lower but as I usually expect a 2-3 step rollout, the ball has consistently been about 1 step past the pitch mark.  I am still working the distances out with these though.  I'm honestly not sure if the difference in distance is due to the loft changes or if it's in my head but I have been coming up short.  I've also had a few chunky shots with this I believe due to a combination of the V sole and slightly longer overall length.

Finally, full shots fly lower and instead of ending up approximately at the pitch mark have ended up half a yard back.  I included a picture of this below.  I have also been having these come up a little shorter than with my previous wedges but not sure if this might have to do with the loft changes or not.  I would like to add that Mr. Koehler did not expect a difference in distances due to a stronger flight despite the loft changes.

I am looking forward to more time with these and being able to get a little more comfortable with the differences.  My parting comment is on one part I have neglected: feel.  This is easily summed up with one word.  SOLID.  These feel so good!  Contact with the ball is a consistent, heavy "thud" and something I have never felt with any other wedge ever.

Please feel free to ask any questions or request any more pictures!

Hello, GolfWRXers.  It's Terry Koehler, aka "The Wedge Guy".

I'm going to be following these lucky reviewers as they share their evaluation of the new EDISON 2.0 wedges.  It's not easy to take on decades of "conventional wisdom" about what makes wedges work the way they do, but it's a challenge I have eagerly pursued for over 30 years now.

If you have questions about wedges or the short game you'd like me to address, please sound off.

I'm here for you all!!!

So let's go have some fun.

Super cool. Been reading your stuff for a while here around WRX.

Really appreciate your knowledge and writing. Interesting and helpful stuff.

And...pretty amazing giveaway/review opportunity for those selected.

Appreciate you!

First off, THANK YOU to Terry Koehler and to GolfWRX for doing this and for somehow finding me as being worthy of testing these. The timing for this, along with my motivation for throwing my name in the ring to be a tester, couldn't be any better, I've been unhappy with my wedges for a while. Finding myself at the end of the lifespan of an RTX3 a few months ago and playing musical lobbers since my Scratch EBN grind nearly wore a hole through the face. I spent a lot of the spring playing mad scientist trying to find the right combination.

The v-sole is legit, gamed  and  loved a 53* Hogan TK15 I had years ago, played it until it was almost smooth, played an entire set of the Hogan irons during that reiteration as well. Briefly played a Scor 50 until a new iron set messed up all my gapping. I don't change wedges often if I can help it, I think they're second only to fairways in importance to finding ones you trust. I've had great results using the previous generations of v-sole wedges and have made efforts to grind my own copies in the past as well.

The wedge set arrived on Saturday, a week after speaking with Mr Koehler and doing our phone consultation.  As I'm sure he can attest and since he mentioned it during our conversation, my specs are far from what's considered 'standard' .  Having said that, 3 degrees flat, 37" lob wedge, 37.5 " sand wedge, etc,  they arrived absolutely spot on, everything was exactly as specified.  I do all my own club work and bend my own lies etc. ,  I honestly didn't expect them to come in exactly as requested but they've spent zero time out in the workshop.  Opening the box felt like Christmas, a few bits of swag thrown in, hat, sleeve of balls, and a divot tool, along with each wedge having a legit emblazoned iron cover on it.

First impressions, the muscle looks 100 times better than any photos I've seen thus far, much more subtle thanks to the smart finish, and nowhere near as 'abrupt' as I expected.  Organic contours and nothing over the top at all, the v sole does appear to be a bit narrower than I recall previous gens being and the overall profile is comfortable, not intimidating at all but not embarrassingly large. The colors are nice, a copper or bronze paintfill on the numbers, ferrules are classy , a simple black with gold stripe.  They look good in the bag as well as address.

After doing a quick comparison with what these were replacing,  I threw them in the bag and headed to the local 9 holer a few miles away and made every effort to miss greens or leave myself a hundred yards out. Honestly my first time out wasn't seamless but it was VERY encouraging and I realized very quickly these were far more accurate than what I'd expected.

I'll update this more after the weekend as I've still only had 27 holes with these and no significant practice time but initial observations are nothing but positive, turf interaction is as expected and feel off well struck shots is  deep and  muted, almost heavy. One thing as Jmccas mentioned in his excellent post , spin. LOTS OF SPIN.

I am thankful to Edison and Golfwrx for the opportunity.  My wedges are incoming still (looks like Monday) but I am excited to receive them.  My relationship with wedges has always been, well, complicated.  Plus severe elbow tendonitis is forcing a move to graphite full time so another variable at play.

The phone conversation with Terry Koehler was brief but informative and to the point.  I am confident that the fit will be excellent (which sort of ruins one of my excuses).  Plus I have played with his designs previously so do have a general feel for the sole, etc.

I apologize to everyone for being a bit late.  This week has been an S Show as I’m getting my entire house painted.  Between being locked in for a couple days (still am until Friday) to the fumes, to the area finally heating up to over 100, it’s been a wild week and it’s only Wed.

I want to really thank Terry and Edison Golf for this opportunity and for WRX for always  putting out these great contests.

I had my initial conversation with Terry a couple weeks ago.  He was really nice, wanted to make certain that he understood my game (strength and weaknesses) and then said he would make certain the wedges would match what I was looking to accomplish.  He even made suggestions on drills or different ways to attack pins and try and generate spin.  UPS driver showed up and the painters removed the plastic on the front door so I could get the package.

We decided on a 51,55,59 configuration.  He matched my current specs with 2* flat as I have a tendency to overdraw all shots but especially irons.  The GW and SW are the most intriguing to me.  I like to play a bunch of different shots as I don’t hit the greens as much as I would like and my strength is my short game.  These will be replacing PXG Gen5 GW and PXG Sugar Daddy II SW and LW.  Wedges look different than I’m used to but the bounce makes them look like they can glide through the turf.  Cannot wait to test them out.  Going to try and get out this weekend.  I took photos of the wedges at address, one with the ball at address and just overall what they looked like.  Terry also included a sleeve of balls, divot tool and hat.  Divot tool looks awesome BTW.

I’ll update soon after I take them out on the course.  Hoping to get out Sunday.

First off, couldn't be more excited to have won the opportunity to test these. Big thanks to Edison golf and to Terry Kohler.  Terry was great to chat with about what my setup should be and some discussion on technique and shot making.

Background on me, play to about a little less than a 1 HC, was fit for the 51,55,59 w/ KBS 120 Stiff 1/2" long and 1 upright. Was playing TM MG3 54 & 60. Play mostly in Pittsburgh so softer conditions and varying sand at my club.  Only thing was I had to drop my driving iron at the top of the bag to make room for the extra wedge which was probably a good thing anyway.

PXL_20230625_124626701.jpg.02bf3584655acb8f97421f0149077156.jpg

Agree completely with @JMccas on what I thought these would look like versus what they actually look like. I was fearing game improvement but they look fantastic.  I tend towards smaller profile clubs and these fit the bill.

So far I have one round and one range session in the books for these so I will update as I play more with them.  Supposed to play Friday but given the air quality in Pittsburgh right now that may be postponed.

Looks:

Was really impressed with how these look out of the box.  As mentioned before the pics online make the cavity look larger than it is.  As well the satin finish is beautiful.

Possibly my only minor gripe is I prefer a straighter leading edge and these have a bit of curve.  Nothing too pronounced but it is somewhat noticeable.

Feel:

No real complaints here.  They say 5x forged and I'd believe that. They have a pleasant, soft feel without being muted.  Still firm enough to provide feedback on a mishit.  I would say definitely an improvement over my TM wedges.

Playability:

Will definitely revisit this section after more play with these.  My one round with these of course I hit 15 greens (humble brag) so not a ton of up and down okay but on full to midrange shots these performed.

So far absolutely no complaints.  Can I just say these are super easy to dial in distance wise.  After a few swings at the range I was able to predict flight and distance.  Love the trajectory these produce.  Not ridiculously low but nice and flat with loads of spin.  We'll see how the spin holds up after time but was able to control spin as needed too.

My course has inconsistent sand (some soft and some with little base) and these have performed well out of both.  Played in slightly firmer conditions and the range was sopping wet and had no issues with either.  No excessive digging or bouncing.  For me the sole is a winner.  I take moderate divots and these let me just nip on shorter shots.

Never hit a fat shot or felt like these dug too much. Really was able to have confidence on nipping the ball perfectly every time.

Spin:

Good but nothing crazy.  Actually really like what they produce because it's super predictable.  Was able to judge sucking it back on full shots to where I wanted it and able to immediately play little skip and stop shots. Faces look great without a ridiculous amount of milling so hoping the spin stays somewhat consistent over time.

Overall:

Yes I know I got these to test for free but honestly I don't see them going anywhere.  They check a lot of the boxes for me on playability and feel.  Look wise I do tend to go with raw but I'm coming around on the satin and the leading edge, while rounder than I typically like actually performs better for me (so maybe I need to just need to suck it up on the look 😂).

Couldn't be happier to put these in the bag and happy to answer any questions you all might have.

Good morning, guys, It's Terry Koehler again.

I'm really enjoying seeing initial reactions and look forward to following this thread as long as we all keep it alive.

I want to address one topic in two different ways this morning, and that topic is the appearance of the back of our EDISON 2.0 wedges.  It seems that you believe that our images on the website don't do it justice. I'll share that of all the golf clubs I've designed and photographed over the years, the EDISON 2.0 wedges present the biggest challenge to get them "right".  We also rely on computer-generated "renders", a process which also has its limits.

I thank you all for some great photos of the clubs you've received and are reviewing.

But there's another side of how they look I would like to address.

There's an old adage for the design of just about anything that goes, "form follows function", and that is super true in golf clubs.  Every major technological breakthrough in the history of golf clubs has required us to embrace a new look.  Think of all the examples:

Metal woods compared to persimmon

Big Bertha compared to the first metal woods . .

. . .And each respective generation of larger and larger drivers compared to the prior.

Ping Anser compared to Bullseye and 8802 blades

The first cavity back irons compared to blades

Hybrids compared to long irons

The inside of multi-piece balls compared to the rubber band method

The modern "space ship" mallet putters compared to anything.

Given the performance goals I was chasing, I knew the mass of the wedge head would have to be dramatically different from what we all have historically thought "wedges" should look like.  The cosmetic back design of the EDISON 2.0 evolved from the need to put mass exactly where it needed to be to deliver the forgiveness, accuracy and spin I was seeking.

I'm pleased that all of you like it so much better than you thought you would and will take that to heart as we constantly review our website presentations.

Carry on . . .

All good points Terry and thank you for the detailed feedback on the design process.  One suggestion for the web site photos might be to use a golf ball as a reference point so everyone can get a truer perspective on the size of the wedge.

So I didn’t have much time but I was itching to hit these wedges.  Took them out for 15 mins during lunch at my local course.  Went to the chipping area and brought 5 Callaway Triple Track Chrome X balls.

first feeling is the club is a great weight.  I could feel it all through the small swings I was doing.  Chipping at 10, 15 yards and then pitching up to 30 yards.  We are at 102* today so they watered but the ground was not soaked or really damp so the wedges did not dig.  Grinds really worked well and glided through the turf.  I only brought the 59 and 55 degree wedges today.  At 10 yards I couldn’t believe how quickly the ball stopped.  Tried opening the face, closing the face, bump and runs and one hop stops. These wedges felt great.  I’ve never used a SW at 30 yards before but took some advice from Terry to try them at different distances. Worked really well and I cannot wait to get out Sunday to play.  Just not looking forward to 108* as my tee time is in the afternoon (yikes).

So I couldn’t wait until tomorrow and decided to get out today since there was basically no one on the course.  108* will do that but that does not stop a WRX’er.

so my short game is the best part of my game.  I’ve had a lot of surgeries and sometimes my back and scar tissue just won’t relax and during those days I miss a lot of greens.  So I’ve worked hard over the years to make my wedge game the best I could.

well today was one of those days.  I could not get to my right side on the takeaway, so I was either hooking the drives or 3 woods or a straight right push.

since there was no one out there I would play my normal ball and then stop at different distances and hit 3-4 wedges.  First hole I was hitting 80 yards wedge shots,  I should have listened to Terry more.  He told me these wedges are longer than most wedges.  First hit flew the green.  I took my normal 80 yard swing and I don’t know if it was the heat plus the wedges but I had a difficult time with distance control today.  2nd shot, I did almost the same thing, over the green.  I got nervous on the 3rd and fatted it.

I play a clock system on my wedges and also choke down different distances on the shaft.  Example would be I could choke halfway down and then at 9pm I have a 60 shot with the LW and at 8pm it’s 55 yards, etc.  I do that with both the LW and SW.  all other irons I basically have 2 distances.

so I did that at every hole but I hit different distances (2nd hole was 30 yards), 3rd hole was 70 yards, etc.

now I usually hit everything from 90 in with the LW and 100-120 I would use the SW.

with the distance control issue I was having I was getting very frustrated.  I was hitting them on the line I wanted but they just kept going long and on hole 6 I then started slowing the swing down and started coming up short- the classic over correction.

landed in the bunker on the 7th hole and I took my normal swing but used the SW.  I usually use the LW on green side bunkers but decided to try the SW.  it glided right through the sand and stopped 2 feet from the hole.  Same thing on the 9th hole.  From 105 I flew the green, landed in the back bunker and the SW got me within 3 feet.

hole 10 I started trying something different.  I went out to 50 yards and hit 3 shots with the LW (59*) then pitched  3 shots with the SW (55*).  This was something Terry told me to work on, hitting shots I would usually hit with the LW but trying them with the SW instead.  Something clicked.  I dropped 10 balls at 65 yards on hole 11 and tried different positions with both wedges.  I hit the green with all 11 shots.  Had a couple within a foot and nothing over 15 feet.

also started putting the LW a tiny bit more forward than I’m used to, opened the face a little more and then my normal yardages started hitting their mark.

cannot wait to get out again and test these.  On the last hole I went behind the green and hit 5 shots with the LW.  Had to land them around 12-13 yards otherwise they would hit the downslope and she gone.  Well here is the photo.  Not a bag grouping.

The one thing I forgot to add was that I was able to flight the ball higher or lower when needed.  It seemed easier to flight them lower than my PXG’s for some reason.

So I played today and decided to put the wedges to the test with a money game against one of my friends.  We played at his home course and we were playing everything down.   I wanted to see how I would hit the wedges under pressure vs just hitting several shots care free.

again the wedges are very accurate for me directionally.  Never really missed side to side.  I did have some distance control issues again.  I did save par a bunch of times with delicate chips back but the initial shot to the green I kept going long.  Had a bunch of 40,50, 60 yard shots that I just flew a few yards to far and then into the back rough.  On full shots, these wedges perform wonderfully and I let my buddy try the SW out of the sand a couple of times (he had already hit his own ball and he wanted to try these wedges out).  He really liked the SW as he got a lot more spin and stopped quicker than his current Callaway Jaws SW.

These are going to require more practice for me to gain the feel and trust the shot but they do really perform well through the turf.  Don’t really dig too much and when I was in a bare spot that had almost hard pan, I was able to clip it really clean and put a ton of spin on the ball.  My buddy agreed with me that these wedges feel a little heavier than my standard PXG Sugar Daddy or his Cally Jaws wedges but I think that’s what helps then get through the turf and prob what causes the extra distance.

I do love that the spin is very consistent and once I gain the feel, I should be able to hit my target distances without the worry of no spin or too much spin.  On short chip shots the LW is amazing.  Hit a bunch of shots within gimme distances after missing the initial approach shot (10-15 yard shots).

My wedges arrived last night and I had a very short window today so played our par 3 course with my son.  It is an enjoyable layout and, depending on wind and tees, I can play everything from 7 wood to lob wedge from a tee.  With lots of slopes, knobs, etc. just off the green, you can end up with some challenging chips if you do miss the very small greens.

My wedges are 49, 54, 59 - +1" with the KBS PGI 90 (stiff shafts).  Due to a long bout with elbow tendonitis, I am begrudgingly moving to graphite full time.

Things that jumped out from our 9 holes today:

Feel - Feel is firm but solid.  Definitely not the soft forged feel but I like it.

Trajectory - Full shot wedges were 15-20 feet lower than the last few sets I have had in the bag.  Did not have time to see how much I could vary the trajectory.

Spin - As mentioned by others, they do spin a lot.  I had 105 to a flag on the front edge of the green, hit the 54 to probably 108-109 and spun the ball back pin high.

Forgiveness high on the face - Used the 49 for a very delicate dowhill chip where the ball was perched up in the grass.  Even knowing it was sitting up, I still hit it high on the face.  But it carried the planned distance and left me an easy putt for a par.  I do not think any other wedge I have used would have equalled that result.

Just a quick glance but more soon.  Biggest thing right now will be to get some range and chipping practice in to get used to the PGI shafts.  Then I can isolate more on the heads.

Want to post an update on where I'm at with these,I now have about 90 holes in with the 47*, 53*, and 57*'s . About 45 of those are split between 2 places I play very frequently and know the breaks of the greens pretty well.

The good, this 53 degree has been a very smooth transition from the RTX3 that I'd played for years and the Hogan TK15 before that. It's actually been my preferred choice for a much larger yardage gap than I expected too, opting for it on anything about 15 to 105 yards. I can flight it easily, pitches are almost subconscious and I've hit a few open face high spinning greenside lobs as well. I really like the 53 as my most versatile club of the 3 .

There's also a reason I chose to start using the 53 on more shots than I typically might have with the wedges I've moved out in place of these...  I'm struggling a bit with dialing in the 57 and the 47.  I've relegated the 57 to greenside only as I don't feel confident yet hitting anything over 10 yards really, I really haven't found a comfortable way to hit a 60 to 75 yard shot with that club yet. Opening the face or moving it around in my stance for manufacturing a delicate little shot is great but anything resembling a 3/4 swing is a gamble. It's not proving as versatile as the 53, much more of a precision club.

Gap wedge has been a problem spot for me in the last 18 months, last seeing a comfort level with a Cobra BioCell Pro Gap that had a lot of lead tape and one of those black pearl KBS Tour Custom wedge shafts with the painted on graphics. I use that spot in the bag as an 11 iron mostly, relying on it for 115 to 125 yards. I'm not hitting this 47 well yet, my turf interaction hasn't been great and I'm still experimenting with attack angles on it. To be fair , I've had a lot of awkward lies on the occasions that I've felt it was called for so I'm not writing it off. This club will require more time to dial in and hopefully I'll get something figured out at the range this week.

I'll give a bit of an update on these.  Have been playing a bit more and still pretty impressed with these wedges.  Feels are getting better and have been making up and downs much easier.

The only negative I've had this far is somewhat inconsistent spin from tight greenside lies. Mid-range pitch shots are predictable but for some reason when chipping off tight lies I sometimes get the quick check and other times a bit of rollout - with very similar contact.

Excellent feedback - same ball, flight, technique, etc. off of tight lies?

Since updating my original post with my full initial review on Saturday night I have played 2 more rounds.  Admittedly, I have not been hitting it well however after those rounds I decided I need to play my next round with my old wedges.  As I mentioned in the review I believe the combination of club length and unfamiliarity with the V Sole design is causing me a lot of poorly struck shots and subsequent frustration and just bad scores that feel worse than they really are.  These still seem to be playing shorter than I would expect given the modest difference in loft.  I plan on taken these out for some more practice in between playing my next round with old wedges.
