Cameron resale question ...

Quick background ... got fitted at Top 100 fitter ... got me into a Cameron Super Select Golo 6 with a Matador grip and heavier weights ... after less than 10 rounds, I hate it and have moved on. 

 

Question:

 

I have no real need for quick cash ... is it better to sell it now while Super Selects are still new, or hold on to it for a while (couple of years?) and sell it as a barely used, like new one when they've been out of circulation.

Sell it now. The yearly releases dont go up in price as they are mass-produced. Now inflation and popularity has changed pricing for older models, obviously, but I personally dont see new ones magically being worth double or etc 'in a few years'.

This. Unless it’s a limited release or circle T, they won’t go up in value. They don’t normally go down either if it’s just an off the rack putter.

Just curious - who do you plan to sell to?  I am also looking to unload my Scotty Monterey within the next few months....

Looks like they're going for between $300 and $375 on the 'bay, so probably there ...

I agree with the analyses above on resale timing but I do think the 2023 lineup is quite nice with the new milling. Very sweet feeling putters to me. What did you not like about the putter? Larger than you like or something about how it plays?

Just out of curiosity, what didn’t you like about the Golo 6 and what putter did you go back to using?

I didn't get along with the milling/feel or the double bend neck.

 

I ended up reshafting a Bettinardi Queen B5 with a KBS CT Tour and putting on a SuperStroke 2.0. Didn't care for the Queen B with the traditional shaft and stock grip, love it now.

Agree with the group, plan to sell it before the new putters are released in early ‘24 for maximum value.

 

I might hang on for a few months though. Might work better the next time it comes out of the garage!

Sell it now, more likely can catch someone wanting to try a Golo but not pay full price on one.

You will have to wait a decade, or more, for a general release putter to go up in value.  If the model is not well received over time, then it might go down quite a bit.

I am sure that you know, but your custom weights and grip upgrade were for you, so you might not get a dime more from anybody who can just get one at the golf store.  You might be able to get more, so good luck and I hope that you do.
