Best golfing shoes for men?

Hello everybody! My husband just started golfing. I want to give him a good pair of golfing shoes as present for his birthday. He is 6ft tall and has knee problems. We are from the Netherlands and I found a list with good golfing shoes, but I see so many different brands and designs. Does anyone have a suggestion or have similar problems with the knees and knows good shoes?

I have been happy with my golf shoes.  Sketchers "Go Golf" are very comfortable and feel just like cushioned running shoes.

Shoe fit is very personal and everyone has a different shape which fits some brands better than others.

 

As far as brands go, check out ECCO. They are Danish and have European sizing so getting the right size should be easier.

Ecco's are not cheap but they are incredibly comfortable. I own the S Three and also the BIOM G5 and they are some of the most comfortable golf shoes i've ever had

I have a few different brands of golf shoes. Footjoy, Nike, Eccos and Skechers.

 

Everyone talks about Eccos. They are comfortable but very pricey. I keep hearing about Skechers . The cheap person's Eccos some say. I was eyeing up a pair of Eccos for Christmas on sale at $199. I bailed and ended up buying two pairs of Skechers for $65 a pair. 

 

The Skechers have been the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever tried. I rank them at the top compared to my other golf shoes. I have put over 60 rounds on them and they still look like new. They are holding up well. A concern for me when purchasing them.

 

A friend of mine after recovering from both knee replacements is back playing golf with me. A few weeks ago he showed up wearing a pair of Skechers golf shoes. I laughed and said you had to copy me didn't you. He commented I see why you like these so much. They are light weight and very comfortable. He said his knees felt like they were walking on pillows.

 

Most of my golf shoes are very comfortable. I paid less for my Skechers and they are my top golf shoes. I've played every round in my Skechers since buying them.

Price range/budget? You have to determine athletic or traditional

A lot of good options. I have knee problems but I would not call them "severe" problems but I love a comfortable shoe. I would check out the Puma ProAdapt Ignite. They do not make that exact model now but you may be able to find them online, extremely comfortable and supportive.  My current favorite style wise and fit are the GFore Gallivanter. For me they are supportive and comfortable, I also have a more narrow fit.

Always had great success with Ecco and FJ.  With golf shoes, spend a bit more. Nothing beats a quality made/materials golf shoe.

You're better off getting him a gift card to a store that sells golf shoes given there is no way he will know what feels best until he tries some on.  I personally have 3 pairs of sketchers trail shoes that I wear for golf, and am very happy with them, but should I want an actual golf shoe, I'd probably look at the sketchers slip-on golf shoes first.

Another vote for Ecco S-Three.  I have two pairs and they are so supple and comfortable with superb support.  Never slipped in them either.  Gore-Tex, so good for when it isn't super hot out. They may get a bit warm in 85+ degrees.  I also have a pair of Ecco Biom H4 which are slightly firmer and perform very well in damp/wet conditions.  Quality of these is remembered, long after the price is forgotten...
