Underrated Wedges to fade cost

A poster on this site, who sold me a set of his daughter's old wedges, once told me he would never buy used wedges.

 

Before you think him a hypocrite, I was of the mind that at a sub-90 driver ss that it didn't matter if they weren't brand new--just good enough.  I was happy to give my friend that money in exchange for his daughter's very nice used wedges with upgraded shafts.  After we went through those wedges, we moved on to different pre-owned wedges in very good condition and it was fine.

 

It was time to move on again (for my son this time) to different wedges, as I had just found a great deal on some new wedge heads that a site had on clearance to make room for the new model.  We had shafts, so all-in after installation it was only a little more expensive than a used premium wedge.  In short, the wedges have been a revelation in spin and overall feel.  I was pretty stunned, but thought back to my friend's old words.

 

Then I bought my daughter a set, but her's with a stiff steel shaft (she uses regular shafts in most other clubs).  It wasn't quite a revelation, but it was an improvement over her two-gen old premium wedges.  Getting these new premium wedges for used prices was always the goal, even if they weren't from the most popular of brands.

 

All this said, once you get past Vokeys, TM4, MD/Jaws, Cleveland and Ping, what are the underrated wedges your juniors have in the bag?  Was it a savings?  Was it worth the savings?  How often have you swapped brands/series/lofts?

 

Short game has been my daughter's achilles heel forever, and I know there's no substitute for practice/technique, but I'm interested in tracking her progress through this fall's USKG local series with these new wedges (coupled with increased short game work).

Underrated -> Flynn Golf

Underrated -> Cleveland RTX3 w/L flex

 

Overrated -> Whatever your personal OEM bias is.  There's a lot of really good wedges out there.

Not cheap but maybe the best wedges on the market.
