Safe to Assume Titleist 620 MB and CB Are Around to Next Fall?

I wish they would resume offering custom options like the good old days.  I want zero offset like Justin Thomas!

Agree with this. Cameron Young’s are something I’d game. I know I’m not the only one who would buy the player specific proto’s.

They won’t do it.  There’s no money in that.  Tseries is a cash cow and they won’t want to mess that up.

Only reason they won’t do it is because Hoffman is gone. Back in the Tour Model days  Titleist did a lot of custom grind sets, they even did quite a few custom grind 681 sets as well. It’s not a question if there’s a market for them, it’s they don’t have the availability to the raw heads like they used to.

Ya know, maybe you’re right.

I suspect it’s cause they are killing it on sales with high margin, mass produced sets marketed as the most played iron on tour. Making a bunch of one off tour spec sets would conflict a bit with their current marketing shtick.

 But who knows

Hate to say it, but yeah that’s why. Has nothing to do wit the T series irons. They had great irons outside of the tour model range back then as well with the DCI range.

Does anyone else like the 620 cbs more than the new current line?

If by new line you mean the tseries, the answer is yes and it’s not even close.

The new ones just feel like junk.

The 620's feel so much better.

No, I think he's talking only about the 620CBs vs previous iterations (716CB and 718CB). I absolutely love my 716CBs and won't be switching irons anytime soon. I haven't tried the 620s, but I seem to remember that the 718CB irons lost some of the tungsten in the toe where mine had them in every iron. There is nothing like a pure shot with these.

he said the new current line so doesn’t sound like he is talking about previous cb line. He’s talking about the current new t line.

I meant to reply to the comment above.. I find it hard to believe the T-series is relevant to a CB/MB product cycle question.

Hearing rumors they are holding out until they can figure out a way to make different grind options make financial sense and obtainable for those golfers that want it. Just with the amount of 1 off irons we are seeing on tour.

B weight (light) heads and different grinds would be cool.  I also like the idea of the tungsten plugs with more mass behind the sweet spot and less on the toe.

I haven't heard.  But IMO 620 MB and 620 CB are all they can be.  Plenty of PGA guys play 620 MBs and many trust 620 CBs.  The best part, Titleist made the CB's to blend with MBs, and did a wonderful job.

Lucky me, I have both sets; 3-PW 620 MBs, and I would blend 3-PW CBs into the bag intermittently.  Each 620 set is fantastic as is yet fit nicely into the lineup with T-series, as they are similar but not the same.  620 CB 3&4 irons are the only irons with tungsten nuggets.  Late last year, I moved to T100 3-PW, for a skosh more forgiveness.

If titleist would make a srixon v sole grind an option I would buy 5 sets and never play anything else never ever.
