Dana Dahlquist Lesson vid

@Brian Manzella the OP put up his second lesson, and you suggested other things you would teach first. Here is the first lesson with Dana.  Curious your thoughts. For what it’s worth this guy hasn’t even been playing for a year. And is on his 4th swing coach.

Is falling to the left foot with the back to the target the new thing or has it been around for a while? I watched a video with Dr. Kwon promoting that same action.

This guy shows up on my feed and I've seen him post videos of himself hitting off the grass at the range in front of the line on a mats day, then argue with folks in the comments who told him not to do that--you know, golden rule and all. Makes me not want to root for him, lol

He'll stop doing that when a shanked ball hits him on the head.

I haven't seen that or paid much attention to the comments. That sounds pretty crappy. I did notice in one video he was asked to join a rando and was talking loudly the whole time to the camera while the other guy was putting. I want to say they didn't stick together for very many holes lol

 

Sounds like he needs a lesson on etiquette.

I watched a DD video a few months ago and he had the student lowering his arms and club from the top. The clubhead sliding down the wall deal GG was teaching at the time and might still be teaching.

Been following this series for a bit, and there was just a new upload today. Seems to me Dana is teaching him now to do what he was doing in the first lesson posted in this thread, and avoid doing the fix he taught him in the first lesson in this thread. Or maybe I'm missunderstanding. Could be an adjustment to the degree of flexion/extension, but certainly looks like what was labeled bad before is now good and vice versa.

I noticed that too. I interpreted as Jerome moving back and forth from one end of the spectrum to the other. Has to use opposite feels to get him back to the middle. Dana uses Sports Box A.I. which illustrates the acceptable ranges of movement.

To be fair, he was hitting ahead of bare dirt, not mats… wish I could say I’ve never done that.
