Atlantic City Bachelor Party

Hi. I'm having my bachelor party in the Atlantic City area in the summer and am looking for course recommendations. (I have looked here in the forums, but having seen anything that is super updated) Have ~12 guys (some decent golfers, some not so great) and we're looking for course recommmendations. In my mind and research, was thinking the best bang would be Twisted Dunes or Seaview for the views; McCulloughs or Linwood could also be of service. 

 

Does anyone know offhand how those courses are shape wise or other recommendations?

How many rounds are you looking to play?

 

If only 3, and your party doesn't mind paying higher prices for good golf, I would play Ballamor, Shore Gate, and Twisted Dune - in that order.

 

All are within 30 minute drives from all of the casinos regardless of where you are staying.

Be careful with Seaview.

 

I played there in April a few years ago and the conditions were terrible and still charged full price ($125). it maybe different in summer.
 

would definitely play twisted dunes. Been probably 20 years since I played shore gate but it was excellent. It’s a bit south of AC. Heard nothing but great things about ballamoor.

 

If any of your guys have connections, see if you can get on Galloway National or Hidden Creek.

Seaview has 2 courses so if you book far enough in advance, it's easy to play both with lunch in between. Both courses are usually in great shape but the Bay Course is nicer (the LPGA plays there in June).  Twisted and Ballamor are solid, nice courses and McCullough's is better than no golf at all. Never played Linwood, I think it's a private club.

Shore Gate is a great course about a half hour drive down the Parkway from AC. It's probably the hardest of the courses mentioned.

I've been to seaview. Was there a couple of months ago to hit balls weirdly as I was passing through. Use to vacation there as a kid, and maybe its the old memories, but I do feel it was a little lack luster compared to what I remember.

Seaview is horrible. Expensive, short, bad condition, 7 billion green head bugs per hole….what’s not to like really? 🤷‍♂️ I’ve played it twice and would never do it again.

 

The best courses in the area are Galloway and Atlantic City CC; need to know a member to get on Galloway, not sure whether you can still get on ACCC or not. After those two, I’d go with Shore Gate, Twisted, and Ballamor in that order.

Seaview stinks. Balla twisted shore gate McCullough's. Accc is overrated and you probably aren’t getting on Galloway

Ballamor should be #1 on your list.  If someone can have their pro call Galloway and/or Hidden Creek and try and work some magic, do not miss a chance to play both those courses.

Bachelor party? 

 

Twisted Dunes is BYOB and probably most relaxed.  Go have fun there. Not terribly tough, but can be challenging.

Ballamor is a great course, and usually in great shape.

Harbor Pines is also right there, I enjoy that and it's similar to Balamor IMO.

 

Greate Bay could be an option, but private so you would need to know someone to get on for 12 people.

Seaview has it's moments and views.  If it is a land breeze, the flies will stay away.

To be fair, I’ve played most of the courses in AC multiple times, but only played Ballamor once. Because it was woefully slow, and the pro shop couldn’t have cared any less, we had a miserable day. So that may have skewed my opinion a bit. 

 

As far as Hidden Creek is concerned, if you don’t have a member play with you it’s close to $600 all in….at least that’s what it was in the Fall when we had our pro work on it for us.

Yeah, we paid close to $600 at Hidden over the summer.

Agreed.  We took walking caddies but still a hefty green fee.
