Need some direction on range to course swing

I originally put that it’s okay as a drill. No idea where that bit went!

My pause is what I feel but probably not what someone else can see. Basically, I'm trying not to rip my arms down from the top and let my left hip get open at impact.

Yeah, a correct transition might feel like a pause compared to the usual rush to the ball of most handicappers.

Basically, what I feel is a pause that allows my left hip to move first and allows everything to work together. When I don't, I tend to come over the top.

Yeah, what feels like a pause doesn't show up on video, at least for me.

Just like a "left arm parallel" swing is left arm parallel in my brain, and then I look at it on video and it's like a 9/10ths of my normal length swing 😉

Another day, another crappy round. Seems impossible for me to improve. Not enjoyable.

I’m sorry that you had a bad round. How do you define that? What are your improvement expectations?

@TheDeanAbides I was hoping for a little more consistency with the full swing. My short game and putting was fine. Just trying to play to bogey golf.

On one of my triple bogey holes I hit 5 fat shots in a row from tee to green. Good habits snuck back in and I wasn’t sure how to recover my swing.

On the plus side, I was happy with my putting and chipping. And I was able to leave the bad holes on the green and not focus on them. However, bad swing habits still haunted me.

I'm the opposite in that I also hit a lot of fat shots, but it's mostly in the chipping/pitching arena. It's something I'm working on (and improving) based on what Monte showed me, but I'm still inconsistent and have developed absolutely no feel yet.

On the bright side for me yesterday, I played somewhat mediocre golf overall but scored surprisingly well for my inconsistent ballstriking. At least well enough for the round to count towards my index and lower it, instead of not even being close.
