As a side story to this tournament, there are a lot of players fighting for Olympic selection out there!

 

For example, the US could have anywhere from 2-4 reps. Allison Lee and Megan Khang, both around the bubble, have missed cuts here. Allisen Corpuz could unseat them with a strong finish. But the US could yet have only Nelly and Lilia going to Paris, and Lilia is dubious.

 

From Korea, Jiyai Shin has moved right into contention with a third round 67, whilst Amy Yang struggles. Sei Young is still a chance.

 

There's a long way to go, but everything counts.

Can't knock her, as she is playing so well, but how Brooks repeats that swing so consistently is beyond me... It's pretty much as long or longer than John Daly in his heyday?!  Don't see a great amount of longevity with such a move but who knows. Putted so well today. 🤔

My track record is terrible. I ruled out Scottie when he has that double bogey, bogey stretch in the Masters and we all know what happened after lol

Round 4's setup is going to be a major factor. With nine players within four shots of the lead, and rounds in the mid-60s already in the books, it could be a real shootout. Or, it could be a tough day at the office where two under gets it done. 

 

I'm going with the latter. Only 2 players in the top 10 last year shot in the 60s on the final day.

Just a shout here for Lottie Woad - a fellow Brit doing very well so far. Only 20 years old. Hopefully she has a career in golf ahead of her - currently at Florida State. She has the same birthday as my father, so I'll be rooting for her.

Jeeno and Hae Ran Ryu look to have been eliminated by strings of bogies. Makes it even more obvious that Nelly wins in the last rounds by keeping her card almost free of bogies.

Nelly has a habit of stringing together a couple bogies around the 10-13th hole every Sunday, bringing other players into the mix.  It happened when she won two prior playoffs, and she did it during the match play event too.

Poor approach and chip by Nelly on the par 5 8th. Brooke's bunker shot wasn't particularly stellar either. They should be eating up these par 5s.
