G430 Shaft help

Im using a G430 max 10.5 with a Kai'li 60s in it

 

SS circa 101mph / Ball speed around 152mph & AoA 2-4 degrees 

 

But spin wont go below 3500 

 

Can anyone suggest how to bring the spin down? 

 

I dropped the loft to 9 degrees and still having the same issue.

 

LST head or shaft change?

Is your AoA 2-4 down or up? If it's 2-4 down, get that leveled out and switch to an LST head. Shaft change won't bring spin down 800-1000 rpm.

Yep, in a stock offering, this is your answer. I actually really like the Kai'li 60 S in the G430 drivers, and could game it (but it is now really low spin). The Tour Black 2.0 is lower launching and lower spin, and should accomplish what you are looking to do.  Or something like a HZRDUS Black RDX or Gen4 which are generally attainable and not terribly expensive.

There isn't a shaft on the market that will lower your spin 1000 rpms and still maintain a playable ball flight.

 

IMO this is a swing and delivery issue. Way too much dynamic loft and likely your face to path needs to be squared up as well.

I strongly suspect a strike location problem. Tough to make a driver spin that much in this speed range unless you're hitting it out of the low heel.

What’s your spin loft? That’s the number you should be looking at.

Check dynamic loft and MORE IMPORTANTLY your face impact location and consistency.   Just get some foot powder spray.  No, judging impact location by feel is not sufficient to test for spin problems.

 

When there is a high spin problem with a driver - 99% of the time the problem will be one of those two things (or both).   And the possible solutions are different depending on which one.

 

How did you come to use that shaft?  Were you fit for it?  Have you played it in any other head?

FYI  - on LM the Kal'li was consistently 3500 -3800

 

Just by switching to the Tour Black my spin dropped into the 2400-2750 range very consistently

 

Same 10.5  head

 

Mid 90ss high 130 low 140 ballspeeds- launch 14*

Only posting data that felt middled, hitting it low heel actually dropped the spin to a reasonable amount

Only way that's possible is if the low heel shot also dropped the dynamic loft considerably.  So very unlikely.

 

The spin is in italics which means the LM was not actually able to measure it. 

 

Were you using metallic dots on the ball or RCT balls?   If not you need to or the spin numbers are not reliable.

 

FWIW, the dynamic/spin loft is not unreasonable so unlikely the cause.  Nothing wrong with the face-to-path as well.

 

So either the spin isn't really as bad as it seems to be - or your impact is low on the face.   Use the foot powder spray or impact tape to check.
