Here are a few sleeves that i found, i also have Professional 100's, Tour Prestige 100's and a few boxes of Pro V1 *'s at my office.

 

I also have some Callaway Rule 35 balls, that were some spinners as well. I can not believe all the golf stuff i have stock piled over the years.

 

Also a dozen Nile Tour Accuracy TW's and DD's. I must have bought these for a collectible, i dont think the DD's will appreciate much.

It's more than 15 years back, but I can vividly remember hitting a Spalding Tour Edition with an Eye 2 sand wedge as a teenager and laughing out loud as it spun off the practice green into the bunkers time after time...

 

A comedy club/ball combo right there.

 

That ball was the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread. Man, that thing spun like crazy. I think Norman was playing it when he was with Spalding (Bag anyway) and I remember him even saying that that ball spun way too much. I thought there may have been some issues with that ball rules-wise, but cannot remember for sure. I do know that I still wish I had one of the little two ball sleeve packs of them that had "SHARK" stamped on them. They were cool. Ah, the old days.........

Another vote for the Tour Edition........

 

No WAY was the Titleist Professional ball 15 years ago. 7, 8, maybe 9 but no way 15.

I'd hazard a guess that the Professional was launched around '96. I know I changed from a Maxfli HT in '93 and I played a Tour Balata for a while before going to a Professional.

 

The Tour Edition was around for a few years, but was launched in '85 or '86 I think, so it's over 20 years old now... Wow. How time flies. :rolleyes:

 

Amazing to think that the Pro V1 is 7 years old now.

Believe it or not, Top-Flite used to be a darn good ball, as I recollect. Max-Fli's too. I remember a blue dot Max-Fli. I used to love finding them as a kid.

I played the Titleist Professional 90 for years until mid way through my Junior year of HS when a teammate and good friend convinced me to try the (new then) Nike Tour Accuracy for a match.

 

I hit it once off the first tee and was instantly switched. From there I went to TA-TW, then Pro V1*, then Nike One, then Pro V1 and have been between Pro V1 and Pro V1x ever since.

 

Now I'd give my left nut to get a fresh dozen of Professionals...

I think the first balls I can remember using extensively was the Top Flite MAGNA!! oversized ball..loved it. After they stopped making that, switched over to the Wilson Titatinium's 100 compressions....man those were exceptionally hard balls...then over the last 7-8 yrs its been nothing but Titleist.

15 years ago I was only 10. I played whatever I swiped from my dad's bag before going to the course. Tour Editions, if I can remember correctly.

 

About 11 or 12 years ago I was in love with Maxfli Revolution 90s, and Titleist Professional 90s (only for tournaments).

 

When the Strata came out I loved it and would play either it or the Titleist Professionals.

 

Nostalgia is great. I'm trying to remember the last time I put a "smiley" on a ball. Good times.

Ah yes the Spalding Tour Edition. In the late 80's and early 90's that ball would spin like no other. More spin than a Titleist Tour Balata, and they were much more durable. I loved that ball. They came in a blue box that opened like a coffin

Top Flite Strata w/ the card symbols instead of numbers -- I loved these but can't remember the real name (Tour Ace maybe?)!

and the Titleist Tour Balata 100's

Titliest Professional... simply the best ball ever, I'd play it again if the released it and if they were to make a common tour ball then this should be it.

 

I liked the maxfli HT's and revolutions too.

Spalding Tour Edition. Funny story, when I was in High School my freshman year on the golf team the coach asked us what ball we prefer on a info. sheet. Everyone but me filled in Titleist (obviously), we were freshman who knew any better...My dad had me playing Tour Editions the year before so I naturally put the ball i was comfortable with. The coach and everyone else on the team laughed when they heard my choice. The laugh was on them as I made the Varsity squad the next week and Medalled with a 73 the first tournament. Funny thing was, coach bought them for everyone the following week.
