Maxfli BlackMax. Great spin, nice feel, and I hit it straight. I don't know why but, this ball gives me the confidence I need to play good.

Nike ONE Platnum very long and exceptionaly straight. I am also a big fan of the Titlest NXT TOUR it is a very good ball and costs about fifteen dollars less then PRO V1. :birthday:

I've been playing the PROV1 forever. I just switched to the Hogan Tour Deep. Better in the wind and better durability and a little straighter off the driver for me. My swing speed is 105 and I play to a 9 Hdcp. I'm a lobber with the short game not a pitch and run guy. I found equal short game results.

One Black. Long and stop where and when I need it to. Very good in windy cond..

 

Tried all the major balls (HX, B330/S, Tourstage (Japan version, ProVs, etc.). They're all good each with it's own plus and minus. But at the moment, Black suits my game.

 

When I'm cheap, I play U Tri Spin/Tour (but their distance cant match Black).

 

ProV family balls inarguably perform, but $$$, so I stay away from them completely. They're also hard to id on course bcause every1 plays them... :birthday:

I have tried many different ball models....... the Tendency: I always end up with a Titleist Ball

 

Played the Pro V1 for quite some time, but my shots had way too much spin even when I am trying to take some spin off a shot. ( The greens at my Home course are between 10 and almost 14 on the stimpmeter throughout the season... Check it out www.fontana.at )

 

Switched to the x, instant LOVE :birthday: perfect ball for my game, which has been approved by the Titleist launch monitor...

 

 

I have tried some Nikes, don't like them, but I somehow am not capable of loosing them......

Hogan balls, ok but not quite as good as Titleist ammo, All sorts of Stratas, and whatever

 

I have srixon practice balls from a challenge tour event, they are ok, but I wouldn't play them...

I like to try them all. Right now I'm playing the HX-Hot, NXT and the Pro-V1. In the summer when I play 4-5 times a week, I'll play the Noodle, Callaway Big Bertha, recycled Titleist Pro-V1 (from the club), or Top Flite Long and Soft, to save money. There's difference for sure, but you play with what you can afford. After Furyk changed over to Srixon, they make it very enticing to try the balls as well, (i.e. Z-URS). I'll try anything once.

Been using the Noodle and BlackMax for a while, but I just got some of the new Maxfli RedMax and must say they feel realy good and soft on the putter carpet test. Will have to see how well they play this weekend.

My current "gamer" is the Bridgestone B330 Tour. I love the way this ball bores through the TExas wind, and it has VERY consistent Distance Control off the irons.

 

Others I'll pay as well include:

ProV1 (but spins too much for me off the teebox)

Nike ONE Platinum - Love this ball, but too expen$ive.

HX Tour - Love this one as well. I've had many good rounds with this ball

Maxfli M3 Tour - On closeout, but I love the overall way this ball performs

Precept U-Tri Tour - The "poor man's ProV1". Great ball.

NXT Tour for me. Always liked the feel of Titleist, but won't pay the Pro V price. U-Tri Tours are another very good one. Haven't tried any of the latest like the B330 yet

ProV1-392. Went to it after Titleist change things last year, cause I did not like the new ProV1 X. The 392 plays just like the old X. Did I read somewhere that Titleist was going back to the old ball setup or something similar?

Believe it or not, I play with about 6-7 different balls and score about the same. Today's balls are so good that I personally believe that one can play with many different balls with same scoring results. The balls that i have on hand and actually have about 4-7 different brands inside my bag now;

Few of those balls above does scuff easily but I didn't find any performance loss with scuffed balls nowdays than it's been in the past.

I am a big fan of the NXT Tour, having said that I played with some Srixon AD-333 last fall and like them as much, lower cost also for those days when the ball goes more sideways than usual. :birthday:

I've played the Callaway HX56 for the last year, used the Black before that and the Red before that. My last two rounds I used a Srixon ZRU and shot 74-73. I liked it really well. But it's hard to beat a Callaway.

I played them all last year. I consistently played the Titleist Pro V1 the best. Wasn't even close.

I like HX tour and hope they improve the coloring on them as i found they are not very white and get dingier during the round. The HX tour56 seems whiter but it spins too much for me . If Im playing with the wife or in a less meaningful game I usually go with The NXT tour but may try the Srixon this year as Ive heard positive reviews. The only difference is chipping with the HX tour compared to the NXT Tour IMO

Deciding on the Srixon Z-URs after shooting my first par round with a Srixon AD333 and my first under par round with a Srixon Z-URs. Doesn't take a genius to put 2 and 2 together. :birthday: Have had balls that spin more and go longer, but none that just plain give me low scores.

I played Srixon AD333 balls almost exclusively last year. Loved the performance across all aspects of my game, but they tend to cut up with the wedges and scuff pretty easily. Tried Nike Mojo 2 on a whim, and found a ball that's slightly longer and a tad straighter than the Srixon, but has a firmer feel and doesn't stop as quickly. I tend not to putt as well with this ball too. However, I'm consistently hitting my longest drives with it, so now I'm torn on what to buy next.

 

I used to play Maxfli balls years ago, so I'm interested in how their latest crop fares. I understand that the BlackMax is their premium ball, and have read good things about it elsewhere. What's the word on this ball at Golfwrx?

 

Also, do you have anything to report on the RedMax yet, ShortSticks? I liked your remarks about the feel of this ball off the putter: I look for the same thing with a ball before I try it out on the course. Incidentally, can you give me any advice on which Noodle to try first? Believe it or not, I've never hit any of them. Thanks.

This past year I've played the U-Tri Tour, NXT Tour, Black Max, HX Red, Apex Tour Red, Tour Deep, One Platinum, and B330-S. I can make any of them work, so usually it boils down to what's on sale/cheapest.

I use the Callaway HX Tour 56 and occasionally the Titleist Pro V1. The Callaway flies further than any ball I have played and is very good through the wind. It has a lot of spin and control but a Pro V1 equals it in this area. It scuffs up very easy which is downside as it becomes expensive buying them (I usually buy dozen packs from my local pro shop so i save 15%) however you get what you pay for and it's a superb ball.

Titleist Pro V1x It is the longest most consistent ball out there IMO.

Pro V1 with no doubt. Explosive off the tee and great spin with wedges, nice roll on the green too.

The best balls without a doubt are the Titleist ProV1 and the Callaway HX Tour 56. If u are looking for a lower quality ball that still plays well try a Bridgestone or Ben Hogan ball.

V1x is ball of choice primarily because I found a great deal on flebay. The HXtour56 is an outstanding ball as well, and is my 2nd choice.

 

Best scramble ball or goat ranch ball for me is the HX hot. Long as hell and enough spin on less than stellar quality greens.

Just played Hogan Tour Deep(Ebay $20/dz) - good ball but kept knocking the paint off them with RAC Black wedges.

I also like Black Max and bought some cheap on Ebay.

SRIXON Z-URS.I am old-school when it comes to Srixon. When they first came into the States, I was playing everything they offered. Remember the origional Hi-Brid? They have been great all of these years. I like this particular ball because it does all of the things the UR-X does except feel as soft. The added bonus: you know when you are in a tournament, and everyone in the group is playing Titleist? No issues there. I will be able to identify my ball everytime! But do me a favor guys, I need to keep this Srixon ball thing a secret. It is a better ball, and I don't want everyone jumping on this so shhhh!
