'09 differences

All this talk about the RX and not much about the 330s! I am playing We-Ko-Pa today and am putting the new 330s in play. Who has played the new version and can comment on performance differences/enhancements, etc.?

Looking forward to hearing your impressions. I've been a loyal B330-S user since they first came out. I've been really impressed with the RX so far (enough that it's supplanted the 2007 B330-S as my ball of choice), but I'm planning on testing the new 2008 B330-S as well.

Prior to the RX coming out, I was flipping back and forth between the Srixon URS and the B330S.

I've played 4 rounds or so with the the RX and, although it may be a few yards longer, I miss the driver spin from the URS and 330S. I have not been able to turn the driver nearly as much with the RX.

Looking forward to We Ko Pa experience.

If I'm not mistaken the B330S was changed to a 4 piece ball now so I would love to hear feedback myself as well.

If you are looking to up your driver spin, you should play the B330 and not the S. The B330 spins the most off the driver and irons. You will probably lose some driver distance because of the increased driver spin, but you will certainly be able to "carve" it a lot better around those doglegs. You will also pick up some short iron spin as well, so if driver distance is not an issue for you, I would try the B330.

New B330-S is now 4 piece.

It spins less off of driver and more off of short irons than previous version, so all in all, a win-win.

It is a good ball if you have a high swing speed. Mine being moderate at 108, I prefer the RX personally. I hit it about 10 yards longer than the S and seem to maintain my spin off the short irons.

For me the new 4 piece B-330S spins 600 rpms more than the older 3 piece B-330S. ...results from the Bridgestone ball challenge. I haven't found a ball that I like as much as the older 3 piece B-330S. The RX comes close

So an update from Saturday's round @ We-Ko-Pa...the course was just wide open in the afternoon so I played ALL kinds of shots from everywhere. I hit the new 330s, Nike One Platinum, TP Red LDP, and ProV1x. For reference my driver SS is around 110mph.

The global take on the new ball is a better feeling ball that in my opinion spins more than the previous model. It was almost as spinny for me as the Platinum, but the Platinum was still a better ball around the greens. The putter feel was better with the new ball, much less of a click that I found with last year's model. The B330s did perform better in the wind when there was some, and I confirmed the fact that the Platinum punishes mishits like no other ball...like 20 yards on tee balls!

On the distance side I found the B330s and Platinum to be equal when struck well, with the ProV1x and TP Red LDP up to 15 yards longer! On the short downhill par 4 10th on the Saguaro course I hit the Platinum and B330s to about 20 yards off the green and was feeling pretty good. I then hit the V1x and LDP to about 5 yards off the green. You could really see the difference in traj and spin. It actually makes me want to give the TP Red a closer look. I gave up the ProV1x earlier in the season for the Platinum, as I always seem to score better with the Nike despite the distance loss.

Long winded post, but my overall take on the ball is positive and it easily could make the bag with the Platinums....of course pending some more work with the TP Red ball! Cheers.

Everything I have read about playing reviews tends to say that the new B330s spins a bit much off the driver! I was hoping to find a challenger for the Pro V1 with the way the advertising reads (lower river spin, more greenside spin 4 piece ball), but that does not appear to be happening. I'll pick up a sleeve this week, but has anyone bagged the 09' B330s yet and why?

waiting for tihs ball to get to malaysia, been using the 2008 model...benn using precept tour premium ls and then u tri tour and 07 330s and o8 330s

i need the extra spin on the driver...low spinning swing on my driver...dont know why...cos when i slice it a wee bit i noticed these are my longest drives...on all my drivers

I normally play the ProV1 but have played the 2008 and 2009 B330S. My brief experience showed the 2009 to be slightly softer and a little more durable.
