I'm in Port Angeles and have an associate membership at Sunland in Sequim. Also play Cedars at Dungeness (dungy) and Peninsula, very rarely Sky Ridge (hate the course, will conquer it on day)
Shoot over to Whitehorse now and then, Gold Mountain as well.

Hi everyone. I'm from the Bremerton area across the sound from Seattle. I'm about 20 min from Gold Mountain so I play most of my rounds there. However, I have a group whose goal is to play every course in the area within 2 hours drive under 50 bucks. It's been three years since and we still haven't done it as we only play together once a month. Anyway, it's been a fun endeavor and once we're done, we'll probably increase the green fee limit and do it all over again.

hey folks .. newbie to the forum here .. I live in newcastle and typically place at china creek on the weekends, foster and willows a lot. I just started golfing back in may of 2010 and have fallen in love with this game. I haven't really kept track of my handicap as I don't feel that I have a need but I've gone from shooting mid 150's to 80-90 strokes a game.

I'm addicted to analyzing my swing and perfecting it at every chance that I get .. I actually just bought a new digital camera with slow motion capabilities so I can analyze my swing some more :).

Just sayin hi .. hoping to find some new playing partners for the upcoming season. :)

I'm in the Olympia area if anyone ever wants to play. Will travel within a reasonable distance (75 miles or so) to catch a round of golf.

I play for fun....not for money.

Wow, your thread brought up alot of memories. I guess you could say that after living in Washington for most of my life ( Ballard) I considered myself a native.

Some of my favorite courses in the Puget Sound and Eastern Washington -

Kayak Point
Avalon
Semiahmoo/ Loomis
Gold Mountain
Apple Tree
Highlander
Desert Canyon

Avalon looks like a great course....wish I was closer to Bellingham.

I get up around there for work sometimes...may have to cram the clubs in the company truck & sneak out for a round or two next time.

Let's do it. My work schedule is chaos but (most) weekends have at least one free day for golf.

Well, I'm now over in Lake Stevens, having moved from the Port Angeles area.
Have only played Legion Memorial since everywhere else appears to be a swamp still.
Want to try Harbour Pointe, Kayak and Jackson Park soon.
I'm used to 3.5- 4hr rounds and legion is killing me.
Where can I play a weekend round in decent time?

Marc buddy what's up. You need to come down to Interbay when you get a chance. I played Harbour Pt. last Sunday and was very disappointed. The fairways were overgrown and the greens were running above a 10. It was impossible to hold and sort of approach shot, fairways were literally like hitting out of rough (mulch everywhere from mowing too). On top of that they gave my tee time away to a different group with the same last name but didn't bother to tell me. Instead they played it off saying they were backed up 20 minutes. I checked in 20 min prior to my tee time too and hit a bucket of balls. When we checked in with the starter he said that my tee time had already passed and looking at the tee sheet they actually let some other group with the same last name tee off in place of my foursome. Terrible course management if you ask me, how hard is it to verify the first name at the time of check in?

Harbour Pointe used to be a great course with great conditions but I would not spend the time or money there after seeing it last Sunday. I have been hearing Kayak Point is in great condition from the other pro shop employees. A group of them are planning a trip up this Saturday. Harbour Pointe used to be a flagship course with tight mown fairways and fast greens. I know that Oki took over and there have been rate hikes and a lot of complaints about management. Just not what it used to be or worth the money. If you wan to play an Oki course up north I'd recommend Echo Falls.

Live in Seattle and just a couple miles from Jackson Park. Just bought an Oki card to see what the surrounding area had to offer. I hear great things about The Home Course and would like to try soon.

Thanks for the "heads up". I dont mind a shameless plug at all, especially when there are golf savings to be had. I will try the Woodlands course. My in-laws are in Olympia and I can drop off the kiddos there for the afternoon and Whitehorse is on my WA bucket list. Have you tired the shuttle that Whitehorse offers? where in Edmonds did you park?

I'd avoid Echo Falls guys, its a freaking swamp. Played there a few weeks ago and it was miserable. If you just got an Oki Card I'd suggest going down to play The Woodland's course at Hawk's Prairie. Played it last weekend and it was in solid shape. The Home Course has been in great shape all winter so you can't go wrong there at all. You can also grab the boat and go to White Horse in Kingston. For $33 you won't find better golf in the state. Shameless plug, but if you looking for current conditions on these tracks check out www.golfchops.com. It will give you a good idea of the conditions, cost, etc on these tracks as well as some photos.

If you're looking for courses out on the peninsula, McCormick Woods is also playing great. I went out there two weeks ago. They haven't aerated the course since last fall and the greens are rolling sooooo perfect and smooth. The fairways lush green and well cared for. I played a weekday round for $35 + $15 for cart. My buddy and i got a round in under 3.5hours. Played Olympic Course at Golf Mtn but it was punched and everything looked a little dried out - yellowish/orange fairways and greens.

I'll have to get down there again. I start working 4 days a week, 1:30 to 11pm sometime before June first, so I'll have Friday, Sat and Sun. off.
I played Echo Falls a few weeks back and while fun, it was a swamp and somewhat hokey, not to mention very short.
Going out to Kayak today. Will give a report back ,but I suspect it will be pretty wet after the deluge on Saturday.
I didn't want to drive an a hour and a half to the home course this weekend. Maybe in a couple of weeks
