I emailed Bill Hollowaty of Miura a couple of times and he replied promptly - additional lofts and grinds should be available late summer -- so I assume August/early September.

hit the miura y gap wedge. came as 51 but bent to 50 degrees. was very very soft. normally hit gap 80 yards. this feel is superb. i finally discovered that if the wedge looks pleasing to the eye and feels good, then dont look for something else. sticking with the y wedge and the chikara proto 56 and 60. hope that helps. the epon wedges are also good but at address they look closed to me. set down the chikara with the y wedge and switched back.

if i didnt have chikara i would switch to the y wedges 56 and 60. wonderful feeling.

how are these different than the models that have the chinese characters 1,2,3 stamped on the back?
those also have the Y grind.

Are you sure about that? (the Y grind)

I'm not completely sure but the sole does have a blunted leading edge and trail relief similar to my Miura CB2006's which has a grind called a W cut.
I like the chinese characters on the back of the club but I'm not educated on the differences between the W cut camber sole and the Y grind, they look similar.

i have no chinese characters on my miura wedges. you will find them on chikara or hakusa,etc.

I've had a set of the satin wedges you are referring to and the grind looks very different to this Y grind - hence why I asked the question.

is the wedge with the chinese character last year's model?
i couldn't find any info on it.

I'm not positive but isn't the chinese characters the wedges that Joe Kwok grinds? I think he stamps those on.

The Kanji/Chinese character is the custom hand grind one.

No. The Chinese characters come standard when you order from Miura. Below is one for one of our customers.

No, any custom shop if they have a guy who knows how to grind can buy and do it if they have a MIURA acct.

As far as I know all the custom grind heavy heads are the one with Kanji character only. These heads are around 220-225 grams. They need to grind them properly and bring the weight down to the specs they need to build them at.

are these special orders only, etc..
