Ahh , I smell the Kool-aide broth bubbling and frothing......

As if anyone really believes that the ball makes a difference at the pro level.

Place more value in the Dollar or confidence that equipment.

If I am not mistaken, I believe its the golfer who wins the tournaments, not the golf ball. I would venture to guess the winners each week would have won using any of the premium balls that other companies offer.

There are more Titleist balls in play than any other brand, so the odds of a player winning with a Titleist are much higher than any other ball.

Finally, someone that understands that the odds are high that Pro V1 will win every week. It is only news when Pro V1 does NOT win. 3 Things are going to happen often this year: Democrats will pass bills, TaylorMade Drivers will win tournaments and Pro V1 will win tournaments. More entries mean more wins. THAT is why companies pay so many players all of that money. Titleist and TaylorMade understand that most players do not sell products by themselves, but if you have the MOST players, you will sell more product and have more wins, especially when Tiger is not skewing the numbers.

Considering that Titleist will sponsor almost anyone to play the Pro V1, I would expect it to win. Despite all the marketing hype, the simple fact is that the results would have been the same no matter what premium ball the top pros are playing.

golf digest said nick switched back to an old modified version of the pro v x a couple weeks back so it was not the 2009 version.

and at least one of the other wins was with a modified 2007 ball as well... maybe 2.

if i recall, only one win has been with the new ball.

not great news for titleist. players try the new ball, switch back to the old one, then win. eek.

Too many haters on here. Titleist makes good golf balls and no one can argue with that. Pro's wouldn't play it is it sucked no matter how much they payed. But the Newest ball is still mostly unproven but pro's are never too quick to change anything...

I thought I saw a Srixon ball in one of the final groups? Amazing that such a crappy ball could make it thru the entire tournament! Imagine how many strokes the player would have won by if they were playing a Pro V!

Hey, dont bash that new Srixon Z-Star. It's supposed to be an awesome ball. VJ's playing it, and that should say something. Supposibly guys who liked the old Pro V will love this new Srixon.

I thought I saw a Srixon ball in one of the final groups? Amazing that such a crappy ball could make it thru the entire tournament! Imagine how many strokes the player would have won by if they were playing a Pro V!

please dont do this again we all know that titleist is going to win more tourneys they pay way more players to game their ball. The reason the best players game nike, cally, taylormade is because u have to earn playing those brands they wont pay just anyone u better be good...

The accurate statement is Titleist ProV1 or X models have won every PGA event so far this year - not the 2009 ProV1. Perry won with the 2007 ProV1X.

The Pro V1 series is the benchmark ball.

When I try a new ball I compare it to a Pro V1.

When the 'others' advertise they compare qualities to the Pro V1.

Their scope at retail and with the pros in unrivaled.

That said, yes pros are were slow to change but when the Pro V1 was first introduced the acceptance was wide spread, to have less of an adoption rate for the '09 version should raise some concern up in Fairhaven, MA.

Does anyone else think the new ball is a downgrade? I mean they had to take technology out, it must be wosre than last years ball. Plus most of the guys are using last years. I really liked the 05-06'X myself the best but grew to like the newer 07'-08' X also. Im not in any hurry to try the 09' at all.
