bought the fh20 with a 16 gig class 6 memory card. anyone know what other things i need for this camera. wanting to know a good quick charger to purchase for batteries. also is anyone using the free version of v-1? any good?
Just recently picked up a Duracell charger with batteries that charges in 15 mins from BestBuy for about $40. So far, so good. BTW, have the same memory card and have had zero problems.

I would get the Gorilla tripod so you can attach the FH-20 to your golf bag. Works awesome and used mine for the first time the other day. The FH20 is much better than the F100 from what I read, so I got it. At $260 on Amazon, it is currently a great deal now that the newer FH25 came out. For the V1 software, I contacted them the other day and am not sure which route to go. I am still thinking on it. I would contact them and have them better explain the difference. I got an email back within hours and it was quite helpful. If you PM me your email address, I will forward you the email V1 sent me the other day talking about the difference in the Home and Golf versions ($39 vs. $89).
Has anyone bought or heard about performance for the FH 25?
There are a few reviews out there (mostly positive) but nothing much. Nor is there a lot about the FC150.

You can order either on ebay from Japanese importers. No word on a North American launch. :(

You can buy the FH-25 on Amazon for $441...

Which makes it a great time to order the FH-20 for $260 ;)

Picked up a Popular Photography magazine while traveling recently and noticed that the FC-100 was one of their 30 top gear picks of the year, owing to the high frame rate video.

I use the FC-100 (chosen for portability on the course) with various class 6 card. No problems there.
The main difference between the Basic/Premium V1home is the split screen & various playback speed. Check the features page here: http://www.v1golf.com/products/v1-home.asp V1golf seems to be based on the 'Leadbetter' version of V1, wiith mainly a different GUI and some animated swing models. Not worth the premium IMHO.
I use both v1home (premium) and cSwing. The latter has more advanced drawing & saving options, but it comes at a price (around $150 I think). One slight annoyance with v1 is that it doesn't like the standard color depth of Win7. It works, but the desktop needs time to adjust when closing v1. For the price v1 is hard to beat, it lacks 'teaching' features but is fine for home use though (hence the name I guess).

Hi Guys, I got myself an FH-20 a week or 2 ago (mainly for golf analysis I must confess), I used it for the first time on Xmas morning (we have young kids :-). A couple of questions:

(i) When recording video in normal mode (not HS) - should a 10 minute movie use about 2GB of memory. I also didn't realise it would cut out after 10 mins :-(

(ii) When I was recored the aforementioned movie (AVI format), when I played it back on my pc, the movie apprears to be 'slightly' in slow motion. I just look again before hitting the send and I'm not imagining it, my 1 year old never moves that slow!

Thoughts appreciated.

ZM.

I suppose its suppose to still show up much darker than what shows in regular 30fps?

sure, seems like a bit overkill unless you are going to have a lot of photos and video on the card, I have never come close to filling my eight gig, but Class 6 is a must.

Oh ok, so maybe I'll get a smaller card, but in class 6. Thanks!

I ran out of memory on the range one day when I really didn't think there was that much saved. Plus, there is some kind requirement to have lots of empty space when editing so I would stick with 16gb.

Class 6 is the ticket. Up here Class 10 has recently been the same price as the Class 6. Not sure if Class 10 would get you an even more detailed picture or not.

I have the fc100 and only play around with it once outdoor during daytime.
I think recording at 210 fps gives better quality. You can use a video editor to slow it down to half speed which gives the "affect" of 420fps.
If you insist on recording @ 420fps , then you can play around with ISO sensitity. Try setting it to iso800 or higher.

Have you guys heard about the new mini casio? The Ex-FH100.

Has a 3 inch screen, and manual shutter speed. Has some other added goodies but basically it has a bigger screen and equal shutter speed capability to the fh20, in the size of the FC100.

I will definitely be buying one in the near future. The 20 can be a little cumbersome at times.

Also rather than just 210 FPS, it has 120 and 240. Then the original 420 and 1000. I'm excited about 120 for the more casual taping sessions.

I believe the FH100 was a nominee for an award for the Imaging area at the CES this week. It didn't win but made the finals.

Here is a quick review with a video that shows the camera.

Here are the specs on Casio's website. There is also a listing for the FH25 that I purchased around Christmas and just received last Monday. Both cameras are supposed to address the dark image issue that the FH20 and FC100 are prone to having. I will find out Monday evening at a local golf dome.

The video on the CES link just mentioned April as the date they will be available. I don't know anymore than that. I did read somewhere that a March or April roll out was planned, however, that article was earlier in the week than the video on the link.

I bought the 25 because of the great videos on the 20, plus, I tend to do as much or more video work in a dome during the winter than outside in the summer so the back lit sensor seemed to be a useful item for me. Has the 20 been as good as you hoped when you bought it?

Yea the 20 has been absolutely phenomenal. I don't use it for anything other than golf, and for that it is fantastic. I've heard complaints about the regular video and pictures. I take an odd video and pic here and there and they are more than fine for me. The 25 has a slightly larger screen plus some other upgrades so you should be in for a treat.

I'm looking forward to april. Conveniently my birthday month.
