Good show. I got a great deal, at the time, about $100 higher but it was worth getting it in time to get my swing prepped for the off season.

In the one manual they list the operating time of various batteries. I switched to the recommended Energizers
and I was much happier with the camera as battery life went way up. The batteries that came with my camera were junk.

I use rechargeable Energizer batteries (NiMH, 2500 mAh) , best investment you can make. For less than $40 you can get a charger (mine is digital and will charge them in only about 3-4 hours) and 8 batteries.

Ya Teach, those are the ones that I purchased. The ones that came with the camera took 20 minutes to charge and lasted about as long on the range. These took 3-4 hours to charge and last longer.

Anyway, here is my beast of a swing.

I was already playing good but once I saw and eliminated the head rotation I saw in this video I ready started playing extremely solid. Getting a camera will prove to be the best thing I ever did for my game.

I just tried out my FC100 for the first time and took some videos in vertical angle. Playing it back in my PC, I can't rotate the angle into horizontal.

I bought a Lexar Platinum ii SDHC 32GB card, and I guess I didn't really pay attention when the woman said it is a class 10 card. I now see the packaging says it's a class 4... but it also says it writes at 60x 9MB/s. So I'm a little confused now. Does anyone know if this will still be a good enough card for general photo taking and swing recording?

I just saw this.... Have had my FH20 for almost a year now and have taken a ton of videos. I got it specifically for golf, but discovered that it is actually quite nice as a regular camera, especially night shots with no tripod! Zoom and anti-shake works really well too. I was able to take close up pictures of buddy teeing off from the green 400 yards away holding it in my hand. Took a shot at a hot air balloon 15 miles away and I was able to read the words on the balloon!

Anywho, can't believe how far the price has dropped in just a year of time. Too bad I can't get any of my friend to understand how to use the high speed photo feature, so I haven't had a good impact picture of myself yet... got plenty for my buddies though.

My only complain is that high speed shooting requires a lot of light, especially video mode. I can't use it when I go to driving range at night. Even bought a LED flood light and it is not even close to being enough.

I really appreciated your comments, Smack but decided against it when Henry's lowered their price by another $50.00.

Thanks, I appreciate that....I had really good compression on the ball in these vids but it has gotten better since then. Noticed that I rotated my head back and then came over the top just until my head got on top of the ball. Did it in every single swing.

What really sucks is that Amazon Canada doesn't sell it and Amazon US won't sell it out of country.

I think most people buy the fc100 because of it's ability to capture golfswing at 210 fps and it's good value for the money.

The s90 doesn't offer that , I believe it can only record at 30fps.

I bought the FH-20 off of Amazon the other day for $275. I live in Canada and have an Aunt in Michigan so I will be able to order it and save!

They are $329 on New Egg.ca again though. Amazing camera, can't wait for mine to teach with!

GMBTEMPE - Is this from the FH-20 ?

 

 

Aside from switching from "Shutter Speed" to "Automatic" in the Exposure Mode (which will increase blur) when I'm in less than ideal lighting including indoors and semi-indoors (a sheltered driving range) both of which would be the norm for me from November to April, I haven't found any settings that will lighten up the video.

 

In other words, leaving the camera in all its automatic settings will make the videos as light as they are going to get. Even in Automatic Exposure Mode with very bright lights overhead at the sheltered driving range, the videos are darker than I would like.

 

Would anyone have any suggestions ?

Kerry, that is the cheaper one, the FC-100.

I bought it for golf but it certainly has worked well to take some pics and to take some videos just like a cam corder.

I have never messed with the settings, just used the "best shot" features.

For lighter videos either choose Shutterspeed AE and turn the shutter speed way down of Aperture AE and open it up all the way.

I had a class 4 that was spotty.. went straight to class 10, no issues so far that I have noticed.
