T-Taylor Made TP Red vs. black

Which swing speed??
I realize that this has been covered, but I've searched all over the place, and I get some conflicting answers. Which Taylor Made TP ball (black or red) is for SLOWER (low 90s) swing speeds??

Also, the RED has more spin, correct?

Thanks

If you're referring to the TP Red LDP, the red has less spin and the black has more spin. Red also has lower ball flight than the Black. Play it base on the characteristics that you like.

So that means that with these, swing speed is irrelevant?

+1 for the red....low ball flight and plenty of spin on approach shots. Like the previous poster stated, try them both and play the one with the characteristics you like.

I've played both and now play the Tp Red LDP.

Black for me:

Higher launch off driver, irons and wedges. Harder feel off the putter and chip shots.

Spins more off wedge shots.

Not that durable a cover.

Red for me:

Lower launch off the driver, irons and wedges. Softer feel off the putter and chip shots.

Spins less off wedge shots.

Far more durable cover - last me 18 holes with ease compared to the black, which could shred in just one wedge shot.

The Tp Red LDP is the best wind ball, I've ever played with.

Important if you often play in windy conditions.

I am fully onboard the Taylormade ball bandwagon folks. The above assessments are largely accurate. I've played both, more with the Red than the Black, and settled on the Red. The main reason being feel. For a premium ball, the Black feels pretty hard in my opinion. The Red however feels great off all the clubs, especially the most important in terms of feel, those being the shorter irons, wedges, and putter. I would like to see it launch a tad higher off the driver, but I can live with the trajectory most of the time. It does worry me a little as I am moving back to Florida in about a week and a half, and courses down there tend to run a little, slower we'll say, than courses in the northeast.

And as if I needed any other reason to play them, the going rate now for two dozen is $55!!!
