Good low cost golf shirts?

Bought a Ron Chereskin at Stein Mart but it does not breathe enough. Have bought Bolle cottons at SM but no wick dry. The best deal I have found is the Champion brand at Target. I bought two on sale and they really breathe. I hate polyester but these breathe so well they feel like you are not wearing a shirt.

 

Any other suggestions on good deals or brands that really breathe plus are not really expensive.

I get my shirts at Ross and TJ Maxx. They usually have the Nike dry fit and Adidas climalite polos for $15 a piece.

If you have an outlet mall in your area, try their Nike and Adidas shops. Usually they'll have a reasonable selection of golf shirts on their clearance racks for a big discount.

I have an Izod outlet near me and their shirts are very nice. They have those moisture wicking fabrics. You can usually get a 2 for $40 deal, or better there. Hawaiian shirts are 'IN' this year, so I scored 2 of them recently for $40 :-)

I have a Nike and Addias outlet close to my house, just bought some very nice shiirts and shorts for about $35 that normally retail for about 50-65$$$.

 

Dont know what price range you are looking for but if you go real budget you usually get what you pay for from my experience. I do know that Kohl's has a house brand that seems decent quality at a good price.

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually have seen some decent deals in airports at the PGA stores. They had some nice shirts on sale for about $19.99. The people are usually very nice in the stores but it is usually a hassle to carry stuff or stuff it in a carry on.

I usually stick to nike or adidas but recently tried a shirt from the new grand slam line at kohls. 15 bucks and breathes awesome. Worth a look

I've added some of the Ping shirts to the wardrobe. They use the high tech material and you can find them at Golfsmith for aboutt $25.00. Really nice shirts.

Found some Cutter and Buck Dry Tech shirts at Factory 2 U (kinda like Ross, even cheaper) and bought a couple to see if I liked them, 5.99 can't go wrong. Liked them so I went back to get few different ones about a week and a half later. They were 2.99 at that point so I bought 5. Each different one they had in my size. There are deals to be had if you spend a little time in some of these different discount stores. It seems ,at least here, golf style does not fit the usual demographic for those stores so a fair amount of these items stay on the shelves until they are sold at clearance prices.

I have two of the shirts. They have white horizontal stripes and got them with the red sale tags. They breathe well. I hate polyester so my poly golf shirts have to breathe really really well and the Target ones by Champion do.

I have some Golf-Tech shirts that I found at sears for $3 each. I bought all they had in my size (which was only 3) and they are great. I cannot find them ANYWHERE online now....

I hate to say it, but I've bought most if not all of my golf shirts at Costco. Last summer they had a bunch of Adidas ones for $10-14 each. Now they have Nike and Callaway golf shirts for about $20-25/ea. They also have PGA branded golf shirts for cheap too.

I have bought some from TJ Maxx, they are oxford brand, they are awesome, I had to go a size down, but they fit really great and the sleeves are short. I have heard good things about the target ones too, never tried them out... I actually ran onto a sale today at a local golf shop got 2 cally wicking polos for $50.

ive got a few of the Champion shirts from target and they are great for the summer, my only complaint is that they snag really easily and also the collar on 2 of them are kinda wierd. Not a fan of the clear buttons, but thats ans easy fix.

 

Also, tried on a pair of the new moisture pants and for #0 bucks, seems like a good deal.

 

 

I buy most of my shirts off the sale rack at my club(60% for cbuck shirts) or Kohls. The grand slam shirts are pretty nice and I really like the fit of the mocks. Always have good sales,too.

With Fathers Day coming up, the TJ Maxx/Marshalls stores will have a big display of golf shirts. They typically have Izod, Nicklaus, PGS Tour, etc for less than 20 bucks. Adidas, Nike, etc are usually 25 or so.

Try your local "Kohl's" department store. One that I visit in Tulsa when I visit there has really great quality shirts and good variety of brands, most of the $20 - $25.

I am fortunate to have two Nordstrom Rack's close by, so I go there. I also shop at many of the local golf stores, courses, on the clearance racks. I have found many good deals there. Finally depending on the season you can find good deals on clearance and closeouts.

 

I also echo what was said by many of the above posters. Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Golf WRX sponsors typically have clearance areas where you can get some deals on shirts that used to cost 50-150 bucks.

 

I think if you are looking for lower cost stuff you need to be patient, willing to sift through some weird looking stuff, and ready to pull the trigger when you find something.

The lowdown: They use 70/34 polyester, which is the cheapest polyester yarn you can buy. Hanes Brands supplies Target the shirts. Not the best quality, but not terrible. As mentioned before, it is a pique construction, so there is a higher tendency to snag. You are basically getting what you pay for with these shirts. They will wick moisture, just not the softest garments on the market.
