White or Black Golf Shoes?

ok all you fashion gurus........which is it......white or black golf shoes when wearing shorts with long thin legs, not exactly with a golden tan and wearing ankle socks...which is the preferred look?

Forget Black - ever. Classic fashion advice is black shoes should only be worn after 6pm or very formal occasions. Golf does not fit the criteria for black shoes. Same token black dress pants should not be worn. Brown and navy looks much better.

As for shorts, white all the way. Of course some would say grown men shouldn't wear shorts.

Classic fashion advise would perhaps suggest that grown men should never wear white shoes, ever!!!! Perhaps if you are running the New York Marathon.

A black sport style shoe looks fine with shorts in my book and they are much easier to keep looking sharp.

Depends... you could easily wear black shoes with black shorts.

If black shoes, just make sure you wear black socks. Don't do the Jerry Lewis/Cliff Clavin look.

Not sure why someone said black pants should not be worn. It can look very elegant, even on a golf course.

I have mostly worn black shoes partly for a reason stated earlier (easier to keep looking sharp) bu I own a few pairs of white golf shoes as well. With shorts, I tend to prefer the white shoes unless are black shorts.

I got a pair of those sweeeeeet looking FJ Icon shoes that are all wite with the approx 1 inch wide black stripe on the side......sweet looking shoe with a more modern type of design. So sweet that I have not played with them yet as I got them as the mucky winter season was upon us....saving them for a drier day....mmmm...cannot wait!

I usually wear black shoes with long pants (black). With shorts I wear black, red, brown, two tones. With shorts I always wear shorty sport socks. I hate to see a geek wearing long socks with shorts.

You can never go wrong with the white adidas with the black stripes. They look good with everything besides perhaps brown, but I never wear brown.

I've worn black for years (always with black shortie socks) but will probably pick up a pair of white this year just to have something different to wear.
