Need advice on golf balls

- Pro V1-X

I have unfortunately been losing balls at an alarming rate -- new home course is very tight with dense OB / jungel al around ;) . I usually play the Pro V1-x, but at the rate I'm dishing out the balls to the monkeys, I'll rather be playing a more economical glf ball with similar / close characteristics to the Pro V1-x.

Any advice out there pls.

NXT Tour, just about as long off the driver...pretty good spin off irons/wedges but not as much as v1x...dealsongolfballs has em slightly used!

I play the pro-v1x and the srixon ad333. they are about the same in all aspects. I swear the srixon is about the same, it's weird and cheaper.

I really like the Bridestone E6. They are a very nice ball.

nike ignite...stupid long and you give up very little on iron spin..you lose alot on chip shots though

If you can still find them, precept U tri tour is an AWESOME ball. Durable, great off the driver and irons (maybe spins a bit more than V1X), fantastic spin around the greens.

 

I found a couple of boxes on sale at Target for $9.99!

 

Too bad they discontinued them.

I also favor buying used golf balls. Even the second quality balls are in very good shape, and cost around $12 USD a dozen. Now I do not worry TOO MUCH about losing them.

Er umm....maybe keep playing the ball you like and instead try a 3 wood, hybrid or long iron off the tee on some of those tighter holes?

 

I do have to say though that if you are spraying them all over

at the rate I'm dishing out the balls to the monkeys

then I don't think a V1x is the best ball for your game right now.

Srixon AD333 is the way to go for $20 a doz cant go wrong...or get x-out prov 1's. You can usually find them for like $25-$30 a doz.

Ok maybe "dishing them out to the monkeys" is a bit over the top but I do lose 2-3 balls a round when it gets bad... that to me is not acceptable esp after being able to use 1 ball for the whole round at my old course.

I saw scientific measurements of most major balls (spin off a driver, spin off an 8 iron, spin from a wedge, carry distance with all three at an average clubhead speed) Precept U Tri Tour and Pro V1x were almost identical. U Tri was about 1-2 yards longer off of an 8 iron, about the same as a ProV1x off a driver, and about 1 yard longer from a 56 degree sand wedge and that was the biggest difference.

 

I bought 3 dozen from my Pro shop for a buck a ball!

It's such a great golf ball. The best part about it was that it seemed to fit PERFECTLY between the B330 and B300S. However, it was 1000X more durable than either.

 

The B330's are cheaper than ProV1, but you can go through 2 sleeves a round without losing a ball because they tear so easily.
