Here is mine...I love it....pretty unique paint fill and stamping...also registry info...not many out there, 350 unstamped and to my knowledge the studio said this is the only one like it stating such....Here are some pics and a link...

COA# A005109. "Made for the tour 009 prototype in a black pearl finish. Newport style head with a sight dot, a crowned 'O' and a crowned circle T stamp. Rare 350g head that is not stamped 350"

Richard congrats I really like that oo9 - clean and pure

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Certain finishes need alot more care, like the Oil Cans and Gun Blue Finishes....with those you should wipe the putter down after use, applying a Silicone Spray and putting it in a dry headcover.

Other finishes take less maitnance like Prop Platinum or Black Pearl, just a simple wipe down and dry cover will take care of you.

It's just a circle w/ oval ring around it. Looks like UFO? planet Saturn?

I really don't know Nick. What I wanted was your gold crown w/ T inside of it. I love that stamp.

Did you see my avatar? Just got if from Brian. I know you're not a mallet fan, but man look at the colors. I couldn't pass it up. I might have to give it to my brother for X-mas present. He loves studio 5 putters.

There are several places...two of the best are The Art Of Putters and Table Rock Golf Club.

As far as prices...that can vary vastly based on Finish, the neck, stampings etc....the most costly are those with custom finishes, necks, stampings, and heaver weights...."350's", usually bring more.

A new "basic" 009...with the most simplistic finishes and stamping...your looking at 2300 or so. The putters you see are between about 2500 and 3000. If it has a welded neck...add 1K.

The prices on the 009 are continually appreciating. Up until last January, you could "order" a 009. This is no longer the case. You can submit specs, finish etc...but the Studio does the stamping, grip,cover etc...this is part of the reason behind the appreation.

What are the longer term plans for the 009's? How long will he make them? Could they ever be made in larger numbers? I am interested because it would effect the market.

Thanks

Scotty has no plans to STOP making the Tour 009's however, they will NOT become a retail model. Scotty has mentioned many times that he is going to be protecting the collectors with the 009. It will not become an Off The Rack putter. So you do not need to worry about the market flooding.

Reguarding the future of the 009, what we know for sure is a few things....Scotty is constantly comming up with new stamps, grips and AMAZING finishes for his work. We also know that one can no longer "order a custom 009"...Up untill 6months ago you could order the putter in every spec you wanted and everystamp in every location. This is no longer the case. Now, you select length, weight, neck style, finish etc....but the stamp, grip, shaftband, cover, paintfill is left up to Scotty to create and design. This is the reason that we are seeing the prices continue to rise...limited numbers, no more "customs", and the starting price for a 009 have risen 400 dollars in the last six months also.

Hopefully that helps.

Thanks!

NS-

I does and thank you for your post. OK, while I am full of questions. 009 being used. Scotty site says the oil can finish is one of the more sensitive finishes to moisture. What is the best practical way to keep it clean and rust free?

I have heard of 2 methods. Which I wont even say till I hear the opinions.

There are two main thoughts on protecting the finishes.....When Scotty released the "oilcloth", the yellow cloth we have all seen, many took that literally and applied oil to the putter. While this works, it will also soften and over time remove the paint fill of the putter. The proper way to store finishes that are veaunerable is with a Silicone Spray. This spray can be found in gun shops etc....dry off the putter, add some silicone spray after each use and a dry headcover and your good to go!

The covers that need this spray are as you mentoned, the oil can and also the gun blue finish, like on the Circa 62s. Other finishes like Pro Platinum or the Blk Pearl finshes are very durable. With those you need only make sure the putter is returned to a dry headcover after a quick wipe down.
