Underway..who you cheerinf for?

5 of the 13 1st Stage PGA Tour Qualifiers got underway today.

Just wondering who you know at Q-School? Any WRX'er's? Who should we be looking to cheer for?

Agreed. He had a very good year on the Gateway Tour, 4th on the money list. If he's going to break out and make Nationwide or somehow the PGA Tour, this seems to be the best chance.

I hope Benoit is in form. Strangely he had his worst event of the year last week, missing the cut badly.

I scanned the names quickly and saw a few other Big Breakers playing today:

* James Vargas
* Joshua Warthen

A close friend is who I'll be cheering for but I won't name names. He's using a different putter now then last year and putting the lights out.

I'm pulling for TC Chen, he deserves a break after becoming famous for his double strike of the ball that wiped out his career more or less.

There are a few guys that I'd call friends in the field...most of them I played against at one level or another. Dayton Valley for the majority of them...Nick Killpack, Clay Ogden, Dustin Pimm, Ryan Ellis.

Can anyone confirm Danny Lee in Carlton Oaks is the former USGA AM Champ? Also notice the Giuliani boy from Big Break also in Carlton Oaks. Interest to see if he got the game to back up his mouth.

That's the same Danny Lee and Andrew can play. He's got a decent resume and has improved a bunch since college.

That interesting. Carlton Oaks in only a few minutes from my work here. Not the best course but tough enough.

Ben Fox, playing at Oak Valley in Beaumont. Kids got tons of talent; Brady Riggs is his coach.

Also have a former college teammate playing at Carlton Oaks...Kenny Ebalo. Unfortunately he's off to a poor start with a 77. The kid can play though, he lost a playoff for our conference championship in '05 to Brian Stuard, who earned his Tour card at last year's Q-School.

Glad to see Patrick Duffy is off to a decent start. Just keep movin Step By Step, he should make second stage just fine.

Both of my guys who are playing this week are in top 6 after two rounds. Hope they keep it going

Andrew Giuliani collapsed on the back nine at Carlton Oaks this afternoon, +8 with three double bogeys. They had to play 36 holes to get back on schedule. Andrew was in position to advance after 45 holes, -3. Now he'll need a great round tomorrow.

Vincent Johnson wasn't much better. He also fell apart in the middle of the third round with a string of bogeys, finishing with a 77 and tied with Andrew at +5.

Benoit is in great shape to advance, likewise James Vargas.
