Cleveland Launcher TL 310

Bye-Bye R11
Picked up R11TP last Friday and must say I was very unimpressed. Returned it to the store yesterday for credit. Intended to buy a rangefinder but the ho in me made me hit some new entries on the launch montior. Long story short, I walked out with a new Cleveland Launcher TL(Tour Launch 310 grams) with stock Miyzaki 59 stiff shaft and a $200 dollar credit since the Launcher is $200 less than the R11 TP. Launch angle, ball speed, spin etc were excellent on the monitor. First impressions at range this afternoon are very positive. The Miyzaki is the real deal not a made for version and for a 59 gm shaft is outstanding. Feel, trajectory, dispersion and roll after hitting the ground were impressive. First round tomorrow but if you are looking for a new driver do not ignore this entry from Cleveland.

They had a ton of them yesterday at Roger Dunn in Santa Anna. I was surprised because I had read somewhere that they were not available until 18th. They also had the other 270 and 290 Launchers in addittion to the 310Tour Launch. Really, really sweet driver and a steal at that price point with real Miyzaki

Any adjustability with this driver?
yes and no, yes in if you are looking at different options (2* open, square, closed) then you can get different heads. No if you are looking for one club that changes. Adjustable heads do not fit into the Ultralight story, as they are the heaviest drivers on the market because of the added adjustability. But Cleveland also understands that not everyone fits into on driver head, so that is why you can get the TL, SL, XL or XL Draw.

Srixon owns Cleveland. Actually I believe they own Miyazaki shafts also. Really , really nice stuff but so underated!
Techincally, SRI Sports owns Srixon and Cleveland and Miyazaki. All three are more like sister companies. Srixon does not own Cleveland Golf, or Miyazaki, it was just the one that has been under the SRI unbrella the longest. SRI Sports also owns XXIO, HI-BRID, Dunlop, Miracle Evervio in the Asian market as well.

This is one thing that makes this club really interesting (along with the great reviews). I'm searching for a new driver and what I've found is if you want the real deal as far as a shaft, you basically have to buy the head and shaft separate. Not sure if I want to dish out the money for that. Defiantly going to swing this club and see how it feels.

I also thought they were not going to be released until the 18th. I really want to wait and try the SL290. I'm going today to test new drivers. I want to try the R11 and the SF 2.0 but if they have the new Clevelands I will go for them first. Back when the Launcher DST came out I hit that really well. The lighter club gave me great numbers. So then the ho in me just went out and bought a Titleist 910D2. Its one of the heavier drivers for 2011. I hit lots of fairways with it though.

I'm with you waiting on the sl290, I like to go hit some drivers today but it is a two hour drive. If the cleveland isn't there till next week I will have to drive two hours again. If gas wasn't three dollars I would go both days.

Official launch date is February 18. That is when they will be in most shops. Obviously, there is no good way of making them show up in 10,000 accounts across the U.S. at the same time, so they wind up some places earlier than others. OEM's ask retailers and golf pros to wait until the launch date, but some of them can not keep from putting them out when they receive them. Wish I lived somewhere that got them early, but since we have a foot of snow on the ground, I'm not sure it matters.

Good for you. Let us know how the 39 works! I am so impressed with Miyazaki! The hype is real.

Hit the i15 driver at the range today.. im playing tomorrow.. this thing is a rocket! Seems to be high on ball flight. But stays in the air forever. Ill post more after I play tomorrow.

The stores I went to today didn't have them yet. Next weekend. I can't wait. So I decided to give the light driver a couple swings. I hit the Launcher DST. Wow I should have bought it. Light is right for me. I was hitting it 320 on the sim. Spin was 2300. I killed the thought of the R11 yuk. I hit the SF 2.0 farther than the R11. If the SL290 doesn't work I can get the DST for a hundred. I want Cleveland.

Update- Round 2 today in San Diego. Excellent results. Mid high boring trajectory, excellent distance for my 107 mph swing, good roll once it hits and the shaft just feels good. Kept it in play every hole. A couple of mishit snap hooks sitll stayed in and got very good distance. I believe that this will be one of the most highly regarded drivers and best value at $299 of 2011. Cleveland has a real winner here!

Arent they both part of Sumitomo? Does not matter. Tires are good, balls are good and clubs are good.
Correct...the SRi in SRI sports stands for Sumitomo Rubber Industries. But Sumitomo Group does more then just tires and golf equipment. They even have a production company that produced the academy award winning film Howards End

Sumitomo companiesSumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd., Chemicals
Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., Machinery, weaponry, and shipbuilding
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Finance
Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd., Steel

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd., Tires and rubber under Dunlop brand
Mazda Motor Corporation
Presidio Ventures[9]
Sumisho Computer Systems, (USA), Inc., Information Technology[10]

Srixon, Cleveland, Miyazaki, Never Compromise, XXIO all fall under the Sumitomo Rubber division.

Now that we got that all cleared up. The Launcher Ultralite is a real winner, and can give anyone a run for their money this year. If i am being really honest, the biggest challenge this driver will have is a guy who buys a driver because he wants it to say Taylor Made or Titliest on the sole, more so then performance. The performance is there, and the Miyazaki C.Kua is really what sets this club apart, no one has a shaft of this caliber as a stock option...and certainly not at $299. Another huge added benifit is going to be the consistancy of this driver. Because of the quality control of the Miyazaki C.Kua and the fact this is not some "made for" shaft being mass produced in china, the driver you buy is going to perform like the demo you hit.

 • 2 weeks later...

I hit pretty much all of the new drivers during demo days at my local shop and the TL310 gave me the best ball speed out of any of the drivers including the razr hawk. I'm getting fitted in a few weeks and this one will definitly be considered.

hey brent, do you have any address pics of that 8.5 that you could show?

if not, how does it sit behind the ball? open face? seems i cant find a club that sits as nice as my 9016 and even though some of these better player heads say that they are 1-2 open they still look closed to my eye
It definitely sits square to open, no doubt about that.

I ordered an SL290 though, which sits pretty square itself... maybe a tiny bit closed.
