Time to Practice?

Not sure if you are being serious or not...but the modesty in the JR section of this forum never fails to amaze me.

The saying goes "If you have to tell people how good you are then you probably arent that good"...I think a lot of the JR's on this forum need to remember that saying and live by it.

I know right? I graduated last year and was the top player on the team and the captain and 3/4 of my school didn't even know I played golf. I didn't care to tell them because it doesn't matter that much. I was also a decent baseball player but everyone knew me as the baseball player not "the best golfer in the school" (which I was.) Modesty goes a long way, if you are so good why continue to practice? Tell yourself you suck and that will make you work harder.

School comes before golf because if you are the valedictorian and apply to school A I can almost guarantee you will get more money from academic scholarships than you would if you got a golf scholarship to that same school. I know a girl who got a full scholarship to Syracuse and doesn't pay a dime but goes to a great school. She never played a sport in her life and couldn't tell you the difference between a football and a soccer ball. She pays nothing for school while all the star athletes play sports and pay their way through college. I hate to break it to y'all but about 1% of you are good enough to even sniff Division 1 golf and most of that 1% doesn't waste time posting on an online forum. The 15 minutes it takes to check this everyday could be 15 minutes of homework or golf practice, BOOM there is the answer to your question.

I did that "lazy kid" thing in high school too. I barely did the homework, never studied for tests, wrote my own papers and did my own projects but slept in class and copied notes and managed a 3.5 but imagine if you put that same effort into your school work? I would have had a 4.0 if I tried at all in school, but I didn't so boo hoo guess where I am going to college for my freshman year? Community College, yes I am transferring to a good school but I won't be playing golf because A.) I am not good enough and have accepted that and B.) I Love the game enough to not make it my job, I want to have a life in college.

Sorry I am ranting but some of the juniors on this page love themselves a little bit too much. Cheating doesn't get you anywhere.

Exactly how i feel i used to have a 4.1 and not do much and then i went to a prep school and it sudden,y became a 3.1-3.3
