Absolute vs. Smooth (standard)

Anyone try both and end up with a preference?

Are they worth the money?

I'm gaming an Absolute. Personally i liked having a little texture on the grip vs the standard.

I play both standard and Absolute Iomics. If I would have to play only one I would go with the Absolute. The texture is nice, not too aggressive. Also that grip does not attract grass and dirt like the standard grips do. The biggest difference from the standard midsize and the Absolute grips is the standard Iomic has squared off edges and the Absolute has rounded edges. That makes a difference to many. Can't really go wrong with either though.

I prefer the standard smooth one. I play it in midsize and am very happy with it, just the right shape and size for me. Worth the money? Probably not if you are looking at it just from a cost perspective as there are cheaper close alternatives such as the Lamkin 3gen Pistol, Golf Pride Tour Tradition and Tour Classic and the Pingman. But an IOmic putter grip has the "bling" factor that those do not.

I have tried both......prefer the Absolute hands down (no pun intended...). The texture the Absolute provides just feels right to me. I liked the standard....but the Absolute is the best of both worlds.....

Currently I'm gaming an absolute and I "absolutely" love it. It has just the right amount of texture, to be smooth, but not gripless at the same time. I would definitely recommend the absolute!!!!!

I think the absolute is by far their best grip. The little bit of texture provides just the right touch.

The texture of the absolute feels great, but I don't like the rounded edges, so I'm going back to the standard on my next putter.

The texture of the absolute combined with the square edges of the standard would be perfect for me.

Absolute is only available in midsize....I like the standard size too, but the Absolute is on my current putter.

best putter grip ever i use the standard in regular size all the pretty colors are cool but may i reccomend the black i really like the "chalky" texture

Absolute: Perfect size, right amount of texture and feel is awesome! Also as someone else stated I don't get all the grass clippings stuck to it.

I just re-gripped a putter with a standard IOMIC, first time using the brand. The putter I re-gripped already had a nice feel to it but felt a little light, since the IOMIC has been on, it actually feels heavier and easier to control. So I say it was worth the money for me.

I just got a standard in mint green and I like it a lot. Similar shape and size the the pingman I have been using the past few years but the texture is better. It's kind of smooth but not slick at all. Feels a little firmer as well.

Just put Iomic standard regular size and I love it. I can feel the head weight better. Love the feel better than the Pingman grip.

I tried a standard Iomic Midsize, but couldn't get used to the ultra-smooth finish and sharp edges. It seemed to be a magnet for dirt and grass and I was constantly wiping it down with a damp towel to get rid of the gritty feel. Also, did not care for the sharp edges and the slight arch (lengthwise) on top.

Decided to give Iomic one more chance and installed the Absolute (Midsize). The textured finish and rounded edges on top, as well as the straight (non-arch) topline, was exactly what I was looking for. Liked the Absolute so well that I installed another one on my backup putter. Best money I've ever spent!

I have the regular oversize and the Absolute midsize, I prefer the Absolute due to the texture, which makes the grip feel more secure to me than the regular grip's material. The regular also seems to get dirtier much quicker, but that's a secondary issue. i also prefer the iomic graphic on the absolute better than the regular, it's a bit distracting to me on the regular grip, more subtle on the absolute.
