'94 Ram Tour grinds $900-1200

just out of interest i am wondering about these Golden Ram Tour Grinds.
i found them in a shop in Bangkok and bought them because they are in very good condition.
In Australia i vaguely remember they were quite a popular players club back in the 1980's or maybe earlier.
i got the full set 3-SW, i am actually using the sand wedge in my bag recently.
there a 2 shaft labels.
one says : Brunswick Golf - Frequency Matched - Precision FM 5.5
other says: Registered - TG 02315 - 255 Cycle.

I haven't seriously tried to hit them, they seem very strong for me.
anyone know anything about them?

I played these irons about 10-12 years ago. Didn't really know what I had, as I bought them at a Mom & Pop golf shop for less than $100 and they were brand new. AWESOME irons. Wish I still had them. Can't find them anywhere for a decent price it seems. Of cours, the ones listed above are the only other place I could find them.

In regards to the ebay seller's listing, he has been somewhat "optimistic" about value of some of his clubs for years and hence the sets haven't moved- as for the Golden Ram Tour Grinds pictured- sweet set that Nick Price won with for most of his "prime" years on regular tour,albeit with different shafts, if you decide to move those, let me know!

I just brought in an older set of the Golden Ram Tour Grinds. I haven't even had a chance to clean them up yet but will post some pics after I do. They look to be in pretty nice condition. If anyone has any ineterest or questions they are welcome to message me.

The Billy Casper is a Pitching Wedge I threw in with them. The Golden Ram Forged Tour Grinds are 3 - 9 Irons.

Tim- could see refinishing the TPM putter, finding a nice vintage wedge like a Wilson Staff JPII, getting some old persimmon woods like Wood Bros., Macgregor, Joe Powell, etc. and making that a nice Sunday afternoon/vintage round bag.

LOL! Funny you should say that. I swaped out the wedge to a Old Wilson Staff yesterday and have the Mac Woods to play with these. I won't make the investment of refinishing that particular putter though. I have plenty of other nice ones and this is just passing through my ownership anyway. I have these exact same irons in my practice bag for use on the range... And I think I prefer them to my Cleveland blades... $900 yeah right!

Sweet set of irons. Pretty hard for me to hit with the stock 6.5 shafts. I had the matching Golden Ram forged putter. It was 8802 style. I regret selling it

i would put that staff wedge up against any modern club today. i have a huge wedge collection and the wilson staffs are amoung the best-even today

The Ram Tour RT70 irons were the first full set I had as a teenager. Purchased them through Austad's back in the mid 1970s. I think they were the store line version of the more popular Golden Ram irons.

Ah, the Vibration Matched model. They're from 1983-1986, not late 80s as it says in the auction. A rather lovely set, my second set of Rams are the Vibration Matched model.

FWIW, the NOS 1994 set that is still on ebay listed for over $1000 is not [i]an Armour set[/i], it's from the Hansberger era of Ram (specifically the FX Tour Grinds). Rudy Slucker (the TearDrop owner) bought Ram in 1997 from the Hansbergers. The TG-898s were a slightly larger tooling version of the FX and Golden Rams, but still in line with their ancestors. It's after that point that Ram circled the drain and became what they are now....
