Definitely my vote for the best USDM iron...most likely because it's from Endo.

That's funny. I tend to think the opposite; don't care for their designs but their quality of construction is unassailable. Oh well, strokes for folks.

Best is difficult because I have really liked all the forged clubs I have had but I have 3: Founders Club 200 Series, Mizuno MP-14, and Saqra INB-1150. I had the Founders Club first - these were my first set of good blades - I get them used but I really enjoyed them. Thin top line with a subtle muscle back - somewhat difficult to hit but a ton of feedback. The MP-14's I bought new and had them till the chrome wore off - literally. Great, iconic club with almost cult status. I still have the 1 iron (hit one of the best shots in my life a million years ago). I have been playing Saqra the last 2 years and I really, really like them. They are Endo forged and feel fantastic. The quality is great and they are extremely easy to hit - very playable but still have all the qualities you look for in a blade. All three very different, yet special in their own right.

I pulled this from another thread where I posted this:
I're hit every Miura and Epon along with Chikara and vega. ( And for the sake of this thread Ive also hit all the other available at the moment )

Coming from me ( a 2-5 handicap former scratch playing maybe twice a week ) they all make great performing product.

From my experience as a lifelong and career club builder they all make FANTASTIC product. Lies and lofts are always good from factory ( not a huge deal to fix but still good to note) . hosel bores are centered and my biggest pet peeve ( head weights ) are always very very good.

From a forgiveness stand point you can NOT beat the Epon 703's, they are like forged TM rocketblades. From there it's the Epon 503's which for me resemble my MP54's in blade length and general size but are much more square on the top line and toe profile. The other thing will ALL Epon irons is that the sole although thinner than some North American clubs dont have much camber and have a flatter profile ( with a blunted leading edge )

Miura also makes great product but as other have said, their product is VERY VERY good but also not always targeted to the guys why might be the higher handicapper. The PP009 is awesome but for some the shape is a turn off. The new 57 CB is SWEET!!! and looks very much like a fatter TM 300 with a wider sole profile and shorted blade length,

Chikara only offers a couple designs and for the better player ( 9 and less ) they are hard to beat.

Vega probably offers off of the largest selections of iron head designs and finished but again more the better player although their CB is very very forgiving and is quite playable for any player with the right shaft.

I build with these products every day, I get to test them when I want and sometimes I get to fit players ( my focus is building ) and I can say enough about all of these brands but I think from what I have access to and my experience my ratings of each product of very fair. I f you have any other questions just reply in the thread or PM me.

I would say that Epon, and Vega ( Endo and Kyoei ) when putting all of their available methods make some of the best. Always remember that depending on what an OEM is willing to pay per head costs from the forging houses will either increase of decrease the quality of the end product. With Epon by Endo there is a Spare no Expense attitude ( i find that to be the same with Vega, and the other boutique companies) which is why their quality is better than the big OEM's one of which I wont mention by name but has some of the worst forged heads I've ever seen time after time especially when it comes to head weight. BTW Nike Pro Combo (2014 version) best OEM heads ive worked on all year
Since I've seen them I've had a crush on the Epon Personals. I finally had a chance to hit a few the other day, and they didn't "wow" me. They're obviously beautiful, and they felt great, but the ball flight didn't do a ton for me. I did like the sole grind with the relieved leading edge, somewhat reminiscent of my old Titleist 680s (which IMO had a better ball flight).

I'd probably lean towards Miura for "readily available," but my old MacGregor Don White's are still the standard as far as I'm concerned.

Titleist TSR2 15* & 21* w/ GD UB-7,8 (S)

Titleist T200/150 5-PW w/ Steelfiber i110 (S)

TOBYBEAR has nailed this one.. Especially on the Chikara as there hard to beat. The only other head that i would say is GIMAR for FORGING.. This guy Dr.ing. Gianni Martinelli is UNREAL he's been know to xray the heads for spots on the face, but this is the guy that does seminars with the BIG companies for forging golf head

I just got a gimar gap wedge head, shaft will be here Monday, then assemble and check it out.

Until then......miura for my taste, and concerning the baby blades it is no contest for what I like.

That said, feel is personal, but miura small blades are the first clubs I hit that were substantially to me better than the best by a very noticeable margin. I love mizuno as well, but miura are only clubs that envoke a reactionary smile from me on pure shots.
